Citi Premier 60k & Amex Platinum 100k Still Available

We reported on the 60,000 point bonus on the Citi Premier card and the 100k bonus on the Amex Platinum card. Both are reportedly dead….or are they?

I doubt this will last too long as Citi apparently wants to end this bonus offer already. As always, be sure to take screenshots and verify that the correct offer is showing throughout the application.

Amex Platinum

Most people were able to get the 100k Platinum offer to show for them by going incognito numerous times, but that apparently ended sometime. Subsequently, many reported still being able to get the offer by applying over the phone. That option too was petering out.

If you give in the offer code, it’s still been working.

When calling over the phone, it’s helpful to have the offer code, called POID. In the case of the Platinum 100k offer, use POID BUIU:0001. Multiple readers reported having success when giving in this code over the phone, including 2 success stories within the past hour (2 pm EST).

The offer code does not work. I tired it this morning speaking to a live agent and he was unsuccessful using 2AAR 8BILOU 4 UQA NKR and POID:BUIU:0001.

@ approx. 8:45pm est, I also called the number provided by Edward, gave the POID, friendly agent mentioned that individuals were having trouble applying for the offer online. After about 20 minutes of friendly conversation we submitted my application with the 100K offer. The agent did mention that they were very backed up with the amount of apps submitted, therefore I did not get an automatic approval. Called this morning to verify some information and received my approval. Thanks for the info!

FINALLY got the Plat offer to work over the phone today. Went with a different phone number, and on the third attempt got someone who didn’t ask for an offer code and POID. 877.621.2639

I called Amex around 10:30am ET this morning, on the phone number provided above 800.243.3888 and waited just over 5 minutes. I said I’d like to apply for the Platinum card with the current special offer. The rep requested if I had a reference code for which I provided the POID code (listed above). He then asked why I was looking at this card; I said I liked the travel benefits (fine hotels & resorts, airport lounges, and TSA pre-check).

He was very friendly, we chatted for a bit, and within a half hour I was approved for the card. Thank you all !!!

Also..is Citi pretty strict about the 18 month rule? I closed my old Premier card July 2014…

Question about Citi. I wanted to see if I was pre-qualified for the Citi premier/prestige so I filled out the form and the results showed that I was pre-qualified for AAdvantage Platinum…but I currently have this card. I read the terms and conditions as well as the additional info but there was no 18 month language on there. Would I be able to get another AAdvantage platinum and get another sign up bonus?

Called this morning and again just now. Both times the Amex representative told me that they cannot accept the BUID code over the phone. He told me to apply online both times, but did not specify how to find the 100k offer.

Well, this started a mini app o’rama that I did not intend….

Citi- used the link, got the “need more information….call”. So, I called and got approved for a 2k limit but after offering to move money off my Hilton card, got an 11k limit approved.

Amex- The offer is still available as of 4:30 PM CST/2:30 MST 8/29/15.

Called and got the “Great news, you’re approved, Mr. L- thank you for continuing your relationship with American Express” via phone but application took about 15 minutes after she pulled my existing card information.

Got through in <1 minute and started the phone call with the POID number. She pulled up the offer and read back the 100k offer with 3k spend and walked me through the application.

That was 20 minutes well invested 🙂
