Evolve Money To Shut Down On February 1st, 2016

Evolve Money has sent out the following e-mail letting users know that they will be shutting down the service on February 1st (any existing scheduled payments will also not be made):

Dear Valued Customer,

Evolve Money was launched in early 2014 as a whole new way for consumers to pay their bills. Thousands of people have enjoyed the benefits of fast, convenient bill payments from any device. However, the payments landscape has changed dramatically and with it, our focus as a business.

Sadly, that means ending the Evolve Money service effective February 1, 2016.

Key Details:

  • Beginning February 1, 2016 you will no longer be able to submit payments using Evolve Money.
  • Any payments currently scheduled for delivery on or after February 1, 2016 will NOT be processed.

Cash Payments:

  • Beginning January 16, 2016 you will no longer be able to use REloadit or Evolve Pay Bucks Load Packs, which are identified as “Cash” as a payment source.
  • If you have credits remaining in your account because of prior Load Pack usage you MUST redeem them prior to February 1, 2016.
  • After February 1, 2016, you will still be able to access your Evolve Money account to review your payment history but you will be unable to make payments.
  • We would like to thank you for your support of Evolve Money these past two years. We realize this may pose an inconvenience and our Customer Support team is available to assist you at [email protected].

The Evolve Money Team

Evolve Money was a great way to manufacture spend and it was really a game of cat and mouse between those in this hobby and Evolve, with us finding loopholes and them slowly shutting them down. Most people stopped using the service when they started charging 3% fees on gift cards back in February of 2015 though.

They weren’t kidding with the shutdown. I entered a final payment over the weekend that was supposed to be charged and delivered immediately, therefore prior to the February 1st shutdown. Evolve didn’t fully shut down, but has now rebranded themselves as exclusively for ADP Aline customers, a card that allows employers to pay employees that don’t have traditional checking accounts. The payment was sent and then returned at the utility, charged against the debit card but not subsequently refunded, so now Evolve has my money and I’m not happy in the least.

Wow. The first week of this month has been worse than the entire last quarter for MS

Same as Steve, I was really cleaning up with $500 Reloadits purchased with a WF 5% cash back CC at Stop and Shop. Now how can I get paid to pay my mortgage?

Kyle, doesn’t the WF card lose appeal after the 4% gas/grocery/drugstore bonus expires after 6 months? Base 1% is meh. Or is there a way to extend that?

There are two WF cash back cards, a visa signature and a regular visa. Pair those with having a spouse and that equals 2 years straight of 5%, not 4%, cash back. After that I may even try WF’s point based cards at 5 points for g/g/d http://frequentmiler.boardingarea.com/2014/11/13/a-card-i-wrongly-ignored/. The WF cash back is till my work horse for my 5 onevip serves, about 25-30k a month on it.

Whats the next best rent payment option that accepts either reloadits or visa gift cards (debit), Radpad?

I have been one of the very lucky ones that has a local grocery store flush with reloadits allowing purchases with CC. Sad day…
