The Offer
- For a limited time, AAA members can purchase Visa gift cards of up to $500 each with no purchase fee at any AAA location in the Mid-Atlantic.
It appears on the Mid-Atlantic AAA web page; other areas are showing a fee. Check the website for your area to see if they are offering this deal. You can also call in to your local office to verify. It’s also worth calling your local branch before going in to verify that they have these in stock.
The gift cards are issued by MetaBank and the last 4-digits would be the default PIN. Edit: FQF says you have to call in to set the PIN.
The Fine Print
- Valid from 11/1/15 – 12/31/15
- Must be AAA member to purchase
Our Verdict
This could be a nice way to rack up some credit card points or to meet a minimum spend requirement. The deal usually comes up in May-June and in Nov-Dec.
Be aware that AAA gift card purchases are tracked to your name and MetaBank studiously blocks ‘abusers’ from continuing to purchase. See more about this from FreequentFlyer here and here. If you go for this deal try keeping your volume low so as not to be shutdown.

Why is it that some AAA locations carry these and some do not? I’ve been to a few in the mid-atlantic region that were larger stores and they always claim they have no idea what I’m talking about when I ask about them.
