The Fine Print

  • Annual fee is waived the first year
  • If you’ve ever received the sign up bonus on the personal card, you cannot receive it again.

Our Verdict

This offer comes around frequently and it’s an OK way to stock up on Delta miles, just keep in mind you can only get the bonus on this card once so you might be better waiting for a better offer to come along (this is the highest I’ve seen for non targeted offers, but they’ve been offering it a lot recently so I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 60k + $50 offer).

Also keep in mind American Express has been cracking down on gift card purchases triggering this reimbursements, so it might be more difficult to cash out your $50 reimbursement.

Thanks @William
There should be a system where latest deal on a particular card be displayed at the top on search.
There is such an awesome info scattered all over DoC. Must find a way for it to be easily accessible.
Maybe a separate page for each major CC issuer where all the deals listed chronologically?

I was just instantly approved for the card and this bonus. Any datapoints on the likeliness that a $50 Delta giftcard will still trigger the credit?

The $50 reimbursement is triggered by any Delta purchase, doesn’t need to be a $50 purchase.

Looks like this might be dead. I only get 35k Special offer with an occasional non special of 30.

Last night I got it at 50k but the application died after the first page (where you put in your income/employment info) and wouldnt load.

Is there actually a 4 card limit for amex cards? I read this somewhere, but can anyone validate this?

Thanks!

Yes, 4 CREDIT not charge cards. I had 4 and when I applied for an everyday Pref I got a call in. I called in and they said I had too many open credit and I needed to close one down to get the 4th.

Do business amex cards count toward the 4 count limit?

For example I have
1.) Amex platinum
2.) Amex preferred cash
3.) Hilton surpass
4.) BUSINESS Gold

I’m i maxed out? or can I get one more if the business doesn’t count

thanks

No, they don’t. Neither do charge cards.

When did the one and done policy start? I got the bonus in 2012. I think their policy started late that year for people getting the bonus for the first time, after that point in time. Yes?

@ABC. What makes you think that. It was a question that was asked, not a statement”. How could you miss that? It’s English 101.

You are not eligible for the bonus. Their lifetime limit applies retroactively.

Because they sent me a mailer this year to apply for the card and get the bonus. I just hate sky miles so did not bother.

Probably a pass for me. Just got a PRG, Plat, and SPG with Amex. Plus, like you’ve said, this has been a higher offer in the past. With Amex’s one-and-done policy, unless you have a pressing need for the miles/points, it make sense to wait for their best offer.
