I make sure that my tackle is included somewhere inside the contact
form or e-mail for them to effortlessly send the coupons off tome.

I briefly have been reading about this device and have some questions about it’s practical applications.

First, are the “teen” cards the Buxx cards that you use to spend/purchase things with?

Second, does each “teen” card have it’s own spend/purchase limit, or does the “Parent Loading Account” have one or do they both?

Third, if the Parent Loading Account have a limit is it a combined limit for ALL of the designated “teen” cards, or is the limit PER EACH “teen” card.

Many thanks!

Yes, you use the teen cards to buy things. Each one has its own daily and weekly spend and load limit. No combined limits (other than five per address), but per card. I’m doing two cards right now unloading to Redbird and Bluebird. It works great for easy MS at a lower rate than everything else – kind of like an Amazon Payments replacement.

thanks for the replies Drew and Josh!

Also, just to make sure, applying for NW Buxx is a soft pull right?

Well, that’s not technically what it’s intended for, but it works and that’s how everyone does it. They don’t do any actual verification.

I put my own information on the “teen” card the only thing I had to change was my username for the teen account.

You guys make good points. I’m just more concerned about noobs calling and complaining about not being able to load their card and complaining about getting a $1 refund.

It’s going to happen, and eventually some upper-middle management type at NW will come to his senses and shut it down or nerf it. But that already happens. Classic tragedy of the commons: all we can do individually is enjoy the gravy train responsibility and try not to be the asshole who gets too greedy and ruins it for everyone.

That was meant for Emmanuel, not you Jeremiah, who I thank for mentioning it for a newbie like me — but who would never do what Emannuel suggested, in any event.

Nothing in the world is more annoying than people who complain “you’re going to kill the MS by sharing it waaahhhhhh”.

The only reason you know about it is because someone shared it with you. Or maybe you’re the solitary brave soul who discovered Buxx cards on your own, in which case why’d you share it with the rest of us?

I thought we all agreed to stop posting critical MS stuff? You guys have basically just killed Nationwide Buxx cards. Thanks a lot guys.

It’s not like Flyertalk.com is a public site or anything…

Every method is going to die eventually. If it’s not published here, it will be published somewhere else.

There are other methods? I called buxx and complained that my card was being charged as cash advance and why? She said she can only help curvy cats honeys. Haha. I told them their customer service sucked. I used csp.

Maybe i did the right thing or maybe I did wrong thing calling customer service.

You must be a NOOB, for unlike me – a newbie — I know enough that Visa Buxx has no control over how YOUR CREDIT CARD ISSUER — classifies that payment to them.

Further, a newbie, knows enough to first set their CASH ADVANCE LIMIT on the subject credit card to as close as $0.00 as they can before make the payment, as well as doing one or two other things:

1). Inquiring/Reading blog posts/information whether their “payment” could be treated as a Cash Advance instead of a Purchase; and/or

2). Making a small test payment as Mr. Charles advises.

It seems strange that you were charged a Cash Advance by Chase for using your Sapphire card, but I will take your report — don’t know if it was an outlier or not — and file that information away.

As to felines, don’t bring them into the mix and by the way, why in the world would you want to use the Sapphire card in the first place? It gets no multiplier for such use, and the $4,000.00 threshold spend seems not that much a hurdle — I guess it was to you and you got burned, but then again, that’s life.

What card gets a multiplier on this? I have to meet minimum spend on csp. Other than that I need to sign up for more cards

@CREDIT — No card gets a multiplier on this to the best of my knowledge.

To elaborate on your CSP issue, I have read on other blogs going back a year or two, that people who loaded used their CSP to load various “cash equivalents” as the credit card verbiage writes — and this would include such — initially had the load show as a cash advance; HOWEVER, THAT WAS JUST THE INITIAL POSTING OF THE LOAD.

At least with respect to the CSP, when it left PENDING STATUS, it was re-classified by Chase as an honest go goodness purchase.

So, it may be that it indeed premature to call and complain to Visa Buxx — as noted above, a NOOB mistake — as Visa Buxx has nothing to do with it, and it very well might be classified by Chase as a genuine purchase when the dust settles.

Question — Did you contact Visa Buxx when this posted as a cash advance and is it still pending on your CSP??

Well, my card was flagged for fraud so I talked to chase first to get it removed. My cash limit was low thats why it got denied.

They told me the transaction is coming throught as non atm cash advance. It depends on the merchant how they send the transaction through.

Chase may very well recode it but it’s being sent as cash advance by nationwide.

Reading the thread on FlyerTalk, this has been an ongoing issue with Chase cards since at least 2014, and it always resolves itself.

You really should read more before acting as you could have saved yourself much trouble by just doing a bit more research before wading in.

I have had no trouble loading my NW Buxx cards with Citi cards, unlike what the blog post says. And the teen cards show up as regular debit cards in Citi’s payment system so I can just load and then pay back the card by calling in a debit payment over the phone! Not holding my breath on how long it will last…
