- Coin washer keeps Westin St. Francis’ change shiny by SFgate (via TBB). Interesting read. Would be more interesting with a video or two.
- Award Wallet Adds eBay Bucks Support & Award Wallet Plus Giveaway! by Miles to Memories. Nice to see this addition.
- Are The Everyday Preferred Card’s Spending Benefits Too Generous To Market? by DansDeals. Interesting that they are removing this card from affiliate channels, if anybody knows more on why I’d love to hear it.
- Google Is Making It Easier To Spot Fake News by PYMNTS. Would be nice if schools taught more critical thinking and fact checking as well.
Random question about the AMEX Everyday Preferred Card. Anyone use that as an everyday spend card to earn 1.5x MR on regular spend?
I guess it’s a nice gesture, but there’s got to be better things for this hotel to spend their money on.
Wish SF washed all their homeless ppl.
thot coin washing was money about money laundering. i was disappointed…
Love the coin washing story you linked. Thanks. Never would have seen it otherwise.
Here’s the coin washing video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IqHCVRbidA
Thanks, much more interesting.
Dirty Jobs did a segment on the coin washer during their run on Discovery.
Re: the DanDeals post–
Is Dan correct that owners of both the AMEX Personal Plat and AMEX Business Plat earn BOTH bonuses when booking flights? He comments repeatedly that you can pay with consumer platinum to get the 5x, and “as long as you have a Business Platinum you get the 50% rebate” as well.
If true, I had no idea, but that’s incredible.
Interesting question. Means, does this mean you can rebate after you book a ticket? So 5x on the actual purchase via AMEX personal. After the reservation, you rebate the cost of the ticket via MR points from the biz plat?
I thought the 50% off rebate was during the booking via AMEX travel.
