Reposting this again because it should finally work.
The Offer
Direct link to offer (this probably won’t work, see instructions to get it to work below)
- Link your Amex Membership Rewards account with your Amazon account for Shop-with-Points and receive $25 off a $50+ purchase of anything sold by Amazon with promo code AMEX16EVER.
To receive the promotional discount:
- Add $50 or more of eligible products sold and shipped by Amazon.com to your shopping card.
- Go to your payment options and choose your linked AMEX card with Membership Rewards (must have a card linked already, it seems you can’t currently link a card for whatever reason)
- pay for at least a portion of your order with Membership Rewards points (can just use one point) (click choose different amount to do this)
- Enter the promo code AMEX16EVER in the box provided on the checkout page
- $25 of savings will be reflected on the final order checkout page.
The Fine Print
- Valid until December 31st, 2016
- At least one Membership Rewards point must be used for the purchase and your shopping cart must contain at least $50 of eligible products
Our Verdict
American Express have offered $15 off $50+ before (twice), obviously this offer is better as it’s a bigger discount and same spend requirement. If you don’t know what you wanna buy, I’d recommend just purchasing a $50 Amazon gift card for $25 and getting yourself a 50% discount locked in. Amazon gift cards won’t work unfortunately. thank you DOC
Worked for me. Already had my Amex platinum card linked to my amazon acct. Combined with the earlier free $10 amazon credit when linking mastercard as 1 click amazon payment, I paid $15 for a $50 Sephora GC. Thanks DOC!
Nice stacking!
My card was not linked, and i successfully linked it now.
I’m eligible for the offer.
Thanks.
The easy part is figuring out if you’re targeted. And if you are, then the hard part is figuring out which items in your cart qualify for the discount.
A little Thanksgiving discount joy just now. Needed a new pair of shoes for work and saw a Black Friday deal on the Rockports I wanted for $55. Used this Amex code and applied 1 Membership Reward point, which knocked $25 off the price. Had a $22+ gift card balance on Amazon already. So I paid just $7 and change new out of pocket money for the shoes.
So very annoying that you can’t link a new MR cc account to Amazon.
Thanks, Doc! Link worked for me; was able to buy a $50 Lowes GC for only $25!
got it to work on a $50 Whole Foods e-GC. First time using an Amazon promo code deal of any kind.
Have multiple Amex cards showing MR balance on amazon which gave some hope that the offer can be used more than once. However only the 1st time worked.
It says once per eligible card, but I’ve only been able to get it to work on one eligible card. Anyone else have a different experience?
