There are two current targeted offers for some Barclaycard cardholders. They are as follows:
- Spend $250 or more using your Barclaycard Wyndham credit card for the months of August, September & October and receive 10,000 bonus points.
- Use your Sallie Mae Barclaycard to set up recurring automatic payments to two or more bills and receive a $10 statement credit. Hat tip to Dhoomphatash on /r/churning.
I think the Sallie Mae card is one of the most underrated credit cards on the market (here are three reasons why), they are often offering bonuses like this and it also earns 5x at groceries, gas stations ($250 spending limit monthly) and bookstores/Amazon ($750 monthly limit). I also think that the Wyndham card can be good value for some as well.
Note to DavidNJ: So you have your eye on WYN Clearwater too????
Didn’t target Labor Day, however.
We would like the weekend before or after Labor Day. So, have fun!!!! 🙂
Jan B: Would have gone to Miami but couldn’t get flights that worked from Philly so Clearwater here we come. PHL / TPA was wide open for award flights. There is a $25 per night resort fee @ the Clearwater Beach resort. Also, I read that they don’t allow bringing any food or beverage to the pool. You need to buy from the hotel.
Thanks for that info; appreciate it!
Just got approved for the WYN MC today (had to wait a few days for a past inquiry to drop off). It was easier than I thought it would be, too.
Have a safe, happy rest of the summer! 🙂
I would have loved to have gotten that offer. I got an email from Wyndham today offering 10,000 bonus points if I switch to Energy Plus for my electric for 2 months. Plus they are saying 2 miles for every $1 spent on the supply portion of my electric bill, It’s limited to certain states and you have to click thru the email or call and give the code on the email. Quick review about the Wyndham card. Wife & I both got the card in May, 2015. Met spend 1st month and both received the 45K 1st bill cycle. 2nd bill cycle w/ each received a 15K Barclay bonus. Don’t know why, but not complaining. Spent heavy over last month for Stop & Shop 2X & 3X gas rewards. Yesterday I checked my Wife’s account & they gave her another Barclay bonus mid cycle of 25,611 points. Haven’t a clue what it’s for? Bottom line is in 2 1/2 months we have 12 free nights. Using 4 nights over Labor Day @ the Clearwater Wyndham Garden resort in Fla.. Had 2 AAbiz R/T needed to use before end of year. Got those AA biz pts. w/ the referral scheme last year.
argh I’ve never gotten a single Sallie Mae spending offer! 🙁 I use the card on a regular basis though, I wonder if that’s what’s hurting me…maybe they target people who haven’t had much activity on their cards??
Thanks for the post about the Wyndham/Barclays’ card…. Happens I just applied for one on Friday. 🙂 At the risk of sounding greedy, would be great to get this extra 10K points too. 🙂 (If not up front, will ask for it down the road — Barclays’ often gave me such offers with my Frontier card — sic)
how to set up bills? can i use amazon allawance for this? thx
Just pay any normal bill, e.g internet.
No, you can’t. You’ll only get the credits if you pay bills in the categories they specify: Phone, Internet, TV, Utilities, GYM.
