{Expired] [1/18-2/13] NYC Restaurant Week: Get $10 Off $39 With Mastercard

Deal has ended, view more NYC deals by clicking here.

The Offer

Direct Link to offer | Restaurant List | Terms

  • New York City is running their annual restaurant “week” from January 18th through February 13th with discounted prices on meals for $29, $39, or $59 price points.
  • Additionally, you can register your Mastercard to get a $10 statement credit for each charge of $39+. Can be done 10x for a total of up to $100 in statement credits.

Our Verdict

If you’re dining with multiple people, I’d try charging the meals in $39 increments to get multiple Mastercard credits. Should also work for someone with two registered Mastercard to put $39 on one card and $39 on another.

At $59 it doesn’t worth the hassle.

Note: This overlaps with “Must See Week” which gives 2-for-1 tickets. Might as well do both deals while you’re in NYC . https://www.nycgo.com/must-see-week/

with 9% sales tax and tips, and most restaurants don’t give good stuff for restaurant week menu, not a deal at all

Is this anything other than hype? Used to be you could get a promotional meal to showcase the restaurant and make you want to go. Then it became a promotional price and a reduced meal to reflect it. Now it just seems like hype as I look at $39 lunches. At these rates, every week is restaurant week, so I’ll go at my convenience when the weather is better and I feel like splurging.

I refuse to eat in NYC restaurants. The drive into the city from Westchester is on terrible roads, potholes bumps, etc. I lived there for 40 years. Vaxed 3x but they still have the covid 10.00 surcharge on top of the 9% sales tax and tip. My wife and I used to go to a great burger place in Lower Manhattan and paid 9.95 each for large great tasting burger with trimmings and fries. That 9.95 is now 11.95 + 10.00 =tax. No thanks even with the deal.

Sure, there are 8 million people who live in NYC and millions more that travel there daily for work and tourism, but lets here your thoughts on why this deal doesn’t specifically work for you.

Bro median income in Westchester is $550K, just pay the damn people. Restaurants are a tough business and I can promise you that no one, from the guy flipping the burgers to the guy who owns the restaurant is profiting from COVID.

And you can still get a great burger for $10
https://www.7thstreetburger.com/menu-1 if anyone visits.

BRo if you’d like you can just hand them some more money next time.

The guy flipping burgers is def not profiting, but the owner is indeed profiting from COVID with a $10 surcharge that goes straight to the bottom line to offset any other costs they may or may not be incurring vs idk…increasing their prices to accurately reflect their services?

So ignorant. Median salary for Manhattan is huge too yet we have a huge amount of working poor. You clearly are far from informed.

You drove from Westchester to Lower Manhattan for a burger and fries? Bizarre.

Bro just take the trains if you’re in Westchester. It almost always saves time/hassle/money compared to driving into Manhattan. I’ve also never seen a “covid surcharge” at any NYC restaurant.

I live in Manhattan and the COVID surcharge is definitely a thing in some restaurants. Not all, but some. You can easily find news articles about it that came out around the time it was implemented. IIRC, the City Council passed an ordinance or what have you allowing restaurants to do it.

Obviously, the restaurants that do it tend not to tell diners upfront that they’re going to add it to the bill.

You’re doing it all wrong. The covid surcharge is only for dine-in orders.

There is no $10 Covid surcharge in NYC. There is a voluntary surcharge of up to 10%. Not all restaurants use it, and many who do charge less than 10%. It should be clearly stated on the bill.

Is it a common practice among NYC restaurants to assess a $10 Covid surcharge? I’ve been to about 35 states during the pandemic and I haven’t seen a surcharge yet. I’ve on;ly eaten in 2 NYC restaurants during that time and no surcharge at either of them.

Would be great if NYC didn’t have a vax mandate for their restaurants.

Would be great if you anti-vaxxers didn’t find an opportunity to bring it up every chance y’all got and just got vaccinated instead.

Posts like this here and the media only generate even more pushback from the people who don’t want to get the shot. “Shut up and take the shot!” and a bullying approach is not going to convince one of them to do it.

Despite what is reported, there are a LARGE percentage of people who are not anti-vax but rather anti-mandate. Many of whom are vaccinated.

TBH, if they are Anti-mandate, they got plenty of incentives to get a vaccine. Even NYC is gave away $100 to get the vaccine. Being “Anti-mandate” is simply an excuse to not care for the wellbeing of public health. There are reasons why seat belt laws exist and reasons why “I am anti-mandate seat belts” does not fly in court. People are free to hate the mandate, people can protest the mandate, but get the vaccine so we do not need more mandates.

If you think these mandates are about public health maybe you should loosen up that seat belt around your head.

The vaccine protects you and you alone, it does not stop infection or transmission. Milder symptoms when vaxxed means you will likely spread it more than unvaxxed. your hero AOC was triple vaxxed and got it. My vaccine status is none of your business. If you’re scared then stay home, but imposing your will on others is not the way. My body my choice, sound familiar?

I’m vaccinated and I still eat out in the city, but the experience of being accosted at the front door and forced to show my papers before being treated like a human being (much less welcomed as a patron) has made the experience far less enjoyable. I eat out a lot less than I once did.
