$100 Phillips Gas Gift Card for $90, Stack with Bonus Bucks for $24 Moneymaker

The Offer

Direct Link

  • Purchase $100 Phillips 66 gas gift card for only $90. Limit 3.

These gift cards can be used at Phillips, 76, and Conoco.

The Fine Print

Our Verdict

These gift cards can be used both at Phillips and at 76 gas stations. Interestingly, 76 gift cards resell for 92% of their value while the Phillips 66 cards only go for 86-88%. Hopefully, the cards will be generic and say both gas stations on the card. I’m not counting on that, however, and we’re assuming for now that we’ll have to either use it or resell it for 86-88%.

If you buy the max 3 cards for $270, and resell them for $88 x 3, you’ll be taking a loss of $2 on each card, or $6 total.

Note that if you end up reselling at 86% or 87%, the math will be worse. And there’s also a chance of devaluation which makes this deal a risk. I’m still harboring a hope that we’ll be able to resell them for 92%, but it’s more likely not to happen.

After tomorrow, we probably won’t be having another bonus Bucks day for a while (until beginning of August), so this deal would only make sense for today or for actual use of the card (not resale).

Not only am not getting 8% in eBay bucks, but I am not even seeing the initial 2%. $0 eBay bucks = NO DEAL

You can always first buy EBAY GCs from GYFT earning 2% CB from portals as well as 2% back from GYFT in points for future purchase. Also, if you pay using paypal using your Chase Ink Plus, then you will earn 5X. Then once you have the ebay GC, then use the portal again to buy Phillips gas card resulting in another 1.1% CB + 4X ebay bucks.

So, in total for $270 purchase you will get the following:

1. 2% from portal = $5.40
2. 540 points from GYFT for future purchase = $5.40
3. 5X Chase Ink points = 1,350
4. 1.1 % CB for ebay purchase = $2.97
5. 4X Ebay bucks = $21.60

Total = $35.37 and 1,350 UR points.

Not a bad deal for a little 15-20 minutes of computer time!!

Is this working for you? Gyft points are not showing up if you go through CB portals. Which one are you using

Gyft doesn’t pay both Gyft Points and portal commission on the same transaction.

MilesCollector

Yes. The trick is when you try to pay using paypal, close the paypal window. This will cause GYFT window to refresh and the GYFT points will be listed. Now, you pay using paypal again and you will get GYFT points. This is how it has been working for me.

You don’t get the gift card immediately though. It can take anywhere between 6 – 24 hr. The deal may be gone while waiting for them to process the order. If you are willing to be on a float, I guess it’s OK.

Can Ebay gc purchased from Gyft be used right after purchase?

KP

8x not valid for Gift cards. Ebay is learning and catching up:)! see below on T&C’s. I can only get 2%

*Qualifying purchase excludes all items in the following categories: Classifieds, Business & Industrial, Real Estate, eBay Gift Cards (within the Gift Cards & Coupons category), Bullion (within the Coins & Paper category), and eBay Motors.

Pls ignore this. I was stacking up multiple cards. Ebay is not consolidating the total and giving 8% back.

Make sure to check under the “my ebay” section, I had a 10% coupon code in mine along with the 8X ebay bucks.

FYI, on https://www.giftcardrescue.com the 92% deal is for “Phillips 66/Conoco/76 Gas”, which sounds like it should work for these cards.

Eric

Is that a new site? I’ve never heard of it before.

On their media page https://www.giftcardrescue.com/media they’ve got articles going back to 08, so no. Haven’t used them before, though; found a link from http://www.giftcardgranny.com/sell-a-gift-card/#76-gas

You should fix the graphic on the home page for this article. It says “Disocunted”, not “Discounted”. Unless that’s intentional.

MrWho wrote that it takes 6-24 hours to receive the Ebay gc from Gyft. In the past my gc have always been available right away from Gyft. Does anyone know for sure who is right? I’m willing to do this deal without the Ebay gc but wouldn’t mind an extra 2% if the Ebay gc can be used right away.

Eric
Eric

I decided to make the purchase. Are you guys going to wait to see what the card actually says on it to know what to sell it as? BTW, the Gyft site does say it could take up to 4 hours for Ebay’s system to recognize the gc so I didn’t take the risk and just put it on my credit card.

I saw that Cardpool sells it for 86%. Wouldn’t the extra 4% through TCB make that the best deal? Of course Cardpool might not pay out which happened to me the one time I sold to them.

Oren

I got the cards in the mail today and it only has a picture of Phillips and 66 on it. I am selling to Junkcard for 88% Thanks!

But the gift card can be used at Phillips 66, conco and 76 stores .

Just because it registers there doesn’t mean they will accept it for the 92%. If you read my earlier post you will see the reason. I predict they either change the payout or reject the sale altogether.

Oren

You’re right. I put the pin in for cardpool and they accepted for $92 each. You saved me $12. Thanks

Eric
Eric

They might end up not paying you. I asked Save Ya a few days ago why it was a different rate and they said it’s because Philipps 66 is a much smaller brand and many customers wouldn’t know they can be used at all 3 stations. Of course Cardpool might not have as strict rules. Has anyone else sold these yet?

Oren

I’m mailing it in tomorrow. We’ll find out if they pay. I would have thought that if cardpool accepts the gift card number they would pay out, but maybe that was naive.

MilesCollector

What option did you select @ cardpool that gave you $92? Did you select “76 Gas” as the option? I have 6 phillips 66 card that arrived in the mail today. Can you please let us know if cardpool is paying you $92 per card?

Oren

Correct. I used 76 gas. I will report back whether I get paid but it might take some time until I know.

Eric
Eric

Wasn’t the limit 3? How did you buy 6?

I have 2 ebay accounts. One for me and another in my wife’s name.

Oren, Do you have any update on whether cardpool is paying you @ 92%.

Oren

No updates yet.

Oren

Cardpool paid out at 92%!

Eric
Eric

That’s surprising but good for you. Did you receive portal cash back on it too? My 2 sales to them turned up as $0 payable with no explanation.

Oren

Not on the sales. I’ve never gotten cashback on gift card sales.
