Cards come with some Disney perks. See our full review of these cards in this dedicated post.
Our Verdict
Even without accounting for any card benefits, $400 is a nice cash signup bonus. After deducting the $49 annual fee you’ll still end up with $351. I assume most people will go for the Premier card and do the extra $500 of spend in order to get the extra $101 in bonus when compared to the $250 bonus on the no-fee card.
If you have a friend with the Disney card, they can refer you and they’ll get 100 Disney Rewards Dollars. And you’ll still get the full $250 or $400 signup bonus.
Just keep in mind this card is subject to the 5/24 rule and it also will take up a 5/24 slot. Check out these Things To Know About Chase Credit Cards before applying. We’ll add this to our list of Best Current Credit Card Signup Bonuses.

All of you mentioned possibly downgrading the Disney Premier to the no annual fee Disney card. Did any of you successfully do this?
If so, did you wait until the 2nd annual fee posted to downgrade or did you do it right at 12 months? If the former, did the annual fee get automatically refunded sometime after the downgrade took effect?
I wanted to tag you also in case you know the answer. Do you know if it works the same way with “3rd party” Chase cards as it does with “normal” Chase cards (eg CSR) where I have up to 41 days after the 2nd annual fee posts to get it automatically fully refunded? If so, that should work if I downgrade or close my Disney Premier card, correct?
I wanted to tag you also as I figured that since you wrote this article, you might know the answer to my questions.
Hopefully others have specific experience with the Disney, but Chase co-branded cards should all adhere to standard Chase rules.

I’ve downgraded or cancelled their Marriott, IHG, and United co-branded cards after the AF posted without issue — granted, I called in shortly upon being charged and didn’t approach the 41 days…
You might try Googling, or searching Reddit r/churning
#1. I wrote “3rd party” with the quotes because I didn’t think that it was the correct word but I couldn’t think of what the correct word was. You are correct that I meant “co-branded”. 😉
#2. I’m confident that if it worked that way with those other co-branded cards, that it will work the same way with Disney. If none of the other 5 people that I tagged reply, I might just have to be the DP that I want to see.
#3. I am glad that I thought to tag you in my comment. BTW, I tagged you again here in case you didn’t subscribe to the post.
#4. Most importantly, thank you for your helpful response. 😀
I’m looking at this new and better deal here. Updated and you get $200 instant egift card to use right away. Since my sister is visiting in 3 weeks, it seems like the way to go.
What do you guys think?

I got a mailer that stated $300 statement credit for spending $500 in the first 3 months. Can anyone find this deal online?

Is anyone able to generate the $300 off $500 spend sub referral?
I don’t want to sign up and then a few months later get sent that offer
They converted my Disney Rewards Dollars to a statement credit after I closed the account. I just assumed there was no way I could redeem them so it was a pleasant surprise. They will be mailing a check since the account is closed.
Interesting. I wonder if that would be the same experience if you had the standard version or the Premier at the time of closure?
The other option is to upgrade to the Premier… use the reward dollars for airfare, then downgrade back. I did this over an approx. 2 month period and was never charged an annual fee, prorated or full.
I had the Premier. I think the airfare redemption requires a high minimum which I didn’t have. I just spent the minimum to get the signup bonus. I did some spending on the Disney streaming bundle so perhaps that triggered the Rewards Dollars statement credit though I had already gotten the $16.99 discount.
Ok. I just know when I closed FNBO and Fifth Third recently with a $5-$10 rewards balance they had no qualms about keeping it. Pretty sure Citi is the same way.
I thought the bonus cannot be cashed on this card for statement balance or chase bank account – can anyone confirm?
Incorrect. This bonus does cash in for statement credit…. In my experience, within days of meeting the spending requirement, potentially well before the statement even closes.
Approved and received the card in around 10 days. Spent just over 1k, received the $400 credit when the statement ended. Very quick turnaround.
Do you need to have Disney card in order to refer? Can it be done via regular non-disney branded chase credit cards
Yes. No.
Oops, last comment posted before I meant it to! I was trying to add the PSECU link but hit the wrong button. I’ll go post the PSECU link on the checking bonus page!
Ooo….this is definitely a good one! Net $351 on $1k…
And luckily I hadn’t applied for a lot of cards recently because I was trying to get a Home Equity Loan and thus was avoiding adding anything to my credit until that closed. So, on the one report I looked more thoroughly at I was only at 3/24.
I am glad I saw this one before I opened an offer I just saw on PSECU
