This account has no monthly fees to worry about.
Early Account Termination Fee
I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule.
Our Verdict
Previously there was a $500 bonus but that was much more difficult to meet the requirements for. I think this is a better bonus for most people and will add it to our list of the best business checking bonus accounts.

DP:
7/25 Opened Free Business Checking in branch as a sole prop w/ EIN
7/25 $1 Bonus posted as THANKS FOR BANKING WITH FNBO
8/18 – 8/21 10 PayPal penny subscription transactions posted
8/24 $1k ATM deposit (posted 8/25)
8/27 $249 Bonus posted as CONGRATULATIONS & KEEP ON SAVINGS
I really wanted to give you all a working DP using PayPal penny transactions, but USPS lost my debit card before I went on vacation, and didn’t deliver it until I got back. I waited until the last minute, but when the bonus didn’t post I caved and did a cash deposit to post on my day 31. 😔
Applied and was approved in branch, they didn’t pull Chex.
opened the account on 7.3
10* online utility fee payments on 7.15
bonus received on 7.16
How about DD? You did real DD?
Anyone opened in Texas? I called and they said they require Assumed Name Certificate (DBA) even if the business name is in your own name. They also required Certificate of Good Standing document which I guess comes from the State comptroller. Man just seems like more than I am used to giving for sole prop. Usually my license and social is enough.
I opened at a branch in Texas with only the DBA certificate.
Ok good to know. I talked to a banker and let him know my business is just under my name so I can’t get a dba for just my name but they want one regardless so I guess I’ll create a name for my business and get a dba.
Well, that was easy.
5/30 – opened in branch, northern CO. Sole prop. Very easy. $1 of bonus is posted at time of account opening. I was 2/60 and 4/90 for chex at time of opening.
6/9 – 10x $1 Apple reloads posted.
6/11 – $249 bonus remainder posted, “CONGRATULATIONS & KEEP ON SAVING”.
Chex sensitive – will automatically decline if you have more than 3 inquiries in the last 60 days
Did you try in branch, George?
No, not yet at least
I tried in branch, can confirm they auto deny if more that 3 pulls in 60 days
It could be, I’d say it’s worth a shot if the branch isn’t too far away. Let us know if you try
if you have an ein (single member llc) would they use a chex for that or a chex for my SS #?
I tried again after I got below 3 inquiries in 60 days and was denied again – this time told that they look for less than 3 inquiries in the last 6 months. I applied with my ein
I remember reading on here before that OOS works? But can’t recall whether it only works in person or if OOS also works online?
don’t know if they pull chex.
Branch locations primarily in Nebraska, mostly Omaha, with a few in Iowa. https://www.fnbo.com/branch-locations/branch-atm-locator.
Lots in northern CO too.
