$5 off $50 on groceries, unlimited, is a great deal. Just split up all your purchases into $50 transactions.
Even more interesting is that reader DavidNJ reports being able to get the $5 discount on a $500 gift card as well, creating a nearly fee-free way of buying Visa gift cards at the grocery store. (The $500 cards are found behind the counter.)
There is also a deal for $15 off $150 on Mastercard gift cards at Acme, although it’s not longer showing in the online account for those who didn’t already clip the coupon. That deal is one-time only, but can be combined with the $5 off $50.
$5 off $50 didn’t work on $500 MasterCard automatically.
I don’t think it ever worked. DavidNJ had to get manual override to get the $5 off.
does not work in upstate NY. Bought a 500 VGC and pack of gum. Nothing came off even tho I had it applied to my phone and signed up online. Manager and 2 cashiers tried everything, it’s YMMV. But the former A&P employees were very caring. So I guess it’s no longer valid, at least in upstate NY. But I used a 2% card so a massive waste of time for just 5.00 profit.
I also didn’t receive the $5 coupon automatically. I didn’t think to go to customer service like Danny. I will be stopping by a few more times to finish the min spend on my AA Plat
I just went to the acme and purchased my $150 gift card. I received my $15 off but not my $5 off. I had to go to customer service where I received my $5 back
