These are pretty bad but relatively harmless in comparison to per-fluorinated chemicals that so often are part of packaging, cookware in these kitchens (teflon, “slippery” plastic/paper wraps), etc. These chemicals really never break down in your body and bioaccumulate, and often in the end lead to cancer. Sadly also part of drinking water most everywhere after Dupont released tons of the waste into rivers in the US and France. Phthalates that you describe are mainly a concern for reproduction, which I personally would argue is way less problematic than cancer. Use glass in your storage containers, use stainless steel in all what your food come in contact with and you’ll save yourself a lot of trouble, just eliminate as much plastic in your home as possible.
