Given the rampant counterfeiting issues on Amazon I would not screw around with them for anything other than basic three ply surgical masks. N95s from more reputable dealers are back down to mostly reasonable levels. If you want to save money look into KF94 (South Korea), cheaper than N95s and less likely to be fake than KN95s.

Received the 3M masks as well. There’s a validation sticker at the bottom of the box containing a Secure Code and a Lot Code, which can be validated at https://safeguard.3m.com/ and which upon doing so resulted in this response:
The secure code combination you entered is a valid code combination for 3M Disposable Respirator 8210. 3M recommends placing a check mark and today’s date next to the secure code to indicate that the secure code has already been validated. Please ensure that the lot number and “use by” date remain legible at all times.
While this validation doesn’t 100% guarantee that they’re genuine (as the sticker is nothing more than a simple white label, where a good counterfeiter could print their own labels w/ codes from a legit batch), between the masks being sold directly by Amazon.com and a successful 3m validation, in my book it improves the chances that they are genuine. BTW, the masks expire 03/2026.
I’ve never owned these masks before, so I can’t comment on how they compare to ones from previous years.

Yes, mine’s a sticker, placed crooked/slanted at the bottom of the box. It looks very unprofessional.
The top row of the sticker (which contains the “secure code”) is actually difficult to read (as the row is cut off at the top), where every occurrence of the number “1” in that row almost looks like a backwards letter “r” (but w/o the curve), similar to Ascii Character Code 191 “┐”.
If Ascii Character Code 191 “┐”doesn’t display on this web-page, you can generate it yourself on a Windows PC:
– Open Notepad (or Wordpad)
– Press and hold the ALT key
– Press and let go of keys 1 9 1 on the numeric keypad
– Let go of the ALT key
No idea what the procedure is on a Mac, iPhone or Android device to type extended Ascii Characters.
Just checked mine, no sticker, just printed/stamped on the bottom of the box. I got a “valid” result. There was a note that subsequent checks would give a warning, but checking right away again did not give a warning. Wonder if someone else would really get the warning. 🤔
