Our Verdict
A limited selection of music comes along with every Amazon Prime membership. Music Unlimited is for access to much more content. Not sure how it compares to Spotify, but this is as close to free as you can get if you’re up to giving it a shot.
Be sure to cancel before the 4 months are up if you aren’t interested in keeping the service. Regular cost for Amazon Music Unlimited is $7.99/month for Prime members and $9.99 for non-Prime.
Just now I got a notification on my Android phone about the 0.99 for 4 months deal. I was able to click on the notification and then go and sign up for 4 months for $1 despite already having had a trial in the past. i was not able to do this on the website. I confirmed I was only charged $1.02 and immediately cancelled the subscription and retained the 4 months access.
This is a decent enough deal – comes up about once a year. I used it last year too.
They have a similar offer on kindle unlimited.
Groupon/LivingSocial is currently having 4 months Apple Music trial for new users. Also, tidal is having 6 months free trial for new users.
