The Offer

Direct Link to offer (links in this post contain our affiliate, remember you can use Jetblue for 3x instead)

Amazon has another pay-with-points deal for Amex Membership Rewards cardholders to get a discount on various Kindle products. ‘Click to Activate’ and you should then see the discount at checkout. As always you can even use a single point and put the rest on the credit card to get this deal.

The Fine Print

  1. This is a limited time offer. Amazon reserves the right to cancel or modify this offer at any time.
  2. Offer is available by invitation only, is non-transferable, is not redeemable for cash, and may not be resold.
  3. Offer applies only to the purchase of eligible Fire tablet devices sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC (look for “sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC” on the product detail page).
  4. Offer applies only when purchase is made with an eligible American Express Card, where Membership Rewards points are used for at least a portion of the purchase and the promotion code is applied at checkout.
  5. Offer may not be combined with other offers.
  6. This offer may be redeemed on up to five units of each qualifying device with a maximum of one discount per unit. Offer good while supplies last.
  7. Offer does not apply to the purchase of digital content or Amazon.com Gift Cards.
  8. Shipping charges and taxes may apply to the full value of discounted promotional items.
  9. If any of the products related to your original order are returned, subject to Amazon’s refund policy, you will receive a refund of the card amount first, followed by Membership Rewards points.
  10. This promotion is available only to Amazon.com customers with an eligible American Express Card issued in the United States.
  11. If you violate any of these terms, the offer will be invalid.

Our Verdict

Not sure if this offer is working for everyone – see if it lets you activate the offer and you’ll know if you were targeted.

These are all nice deals, but nothing groundbreaking since Amazon often puts Kindle’s on sale. Still a nice discount for someone who wants to buy one now.

Hey Will, was just on my Amazon account and I saw this offer pop up again. I activated it for all five of the products you originally mentioned in your post. The three regular Fire tablets are the same prices you originally listed. The kids tablets though are more expensive ($69.99 for the Kids 7 and $89.99 for the Kids 8).

Discounted prices for all Amazon Fire devices are gone now. It went to regular price now. Anyone see the discounted price?

Nope, sucks too because I was going to buy the fire kids tablet for the sole purpose of saving money to get the freetime app for my two kids. Hopefully it comes back.

I picked up the Kids HD 8 (better than the regular HD 8 because it’s 32 GB and 2 year warranty, but the same $50 price!). That’s a heck of a deal for a $130 retail tablet. But, thinking I might resell it and possibly get the HD 10.

Any idea how long the Amex promo may last? It would be great if they put the HD 10 on sale like the Kids HD 8 was to make it a better deal.

was thinkin’ along the same lines — as in what’s the big deal with this latest promo? Remembering too when the Tablet 8 (now aging technology) was going for $29 straight up on Black Friday.

PS, to anybody who gets one of these things, pay attention closely to all the mind-numbing fine print when you first open up your machine — and AVOID signing up for any free trials. If you forget to cancel at the end of your first month, never mind if you didn’t use the whatever, Amazon will be more than happy to soak your accounts month and after month til ya notice.

The title of the article would be better to say Kindle Fire devices or Amazon Fire Tablets. I clicked in thinking they were discounting Kindle Paperwhite, etc. The e-readers are the Kindles. Just thought I’d point that out.

Is there any possibility that you separate your shopping commentary from your religious beliefs? I have no problem with Christianity, but it seems a little over the top to assert Jesus in every comment that you make…

oh my…. ran into many faith-ful souls like you, ancient history in my days among the sheeple out at oru, so many amway devotees to the WOF, “name-it-claim-it” realms of the holy prosperity “gospel.” While you’re of course free to wear your “evangelism” on your sleeve, those of us who stopped worshiping the likes of Strang, Osteen, White, & Creflo might also be free to be less than “evangelized” ….. even turned off and unable to hear what you’re sayin’

Is there a possibility you mind your own business and allow people the freedom they are given in this country???
