American Express has announced that Platinum & Centurion cardholders will be able to make a restaurant reservation at more than 10,000 restaurants in the American Express app. To begin with a small portion of the cardmember base will be given access to this feature with all cardholders being granted access in early 2020. This feature builds off American Express’ acquisition of Resy, Pocket Concierge and Cake Technologies. Unfortunately cardmembers do not get access to preferential treatment when looking to reserve a table (in my opinion this is the main reason people like being able to use a concierge), although preferential treatment is still available via the global dining collection.
Agree with Wayne. Have personal and biz plats. Need to decide soon which to keep. Cannot justify the fees to carry both with the benefits being chiseled away. the airline credit does nothing for me anymore, fewer and fewer AE offers that work for me.
Just a useless benefit in my opinion. I’m hoping something new and worthwhile to me comes out real soon since it’s borderline if the card is worth the fee?

If it’s not preferential…why would I bother using the app instead of another? Or taking the “Google best restaurants in X-click click book” approach? Or the “Google Maps restaurants near me that are we reviewed click click book”? Unless it’s comprehensive it seems like you’d miss out on decent options.
Some people don’t want to see a massive selection and prefer simplicity.
