Direct link to offer

  • Signup for the Amex Delta Reserve Card and after spending $5,000 within 3 months, you’ll get:
    • 70,000 Delta miles
    • 10,000 MQM (Medallion Qualification Miles). These miles are not redeemable and instead count towards elite status.

Card Details

  • $450 annual fee, not waived the first year
  • If you spend $30,000 or more in a calendar year you receive 15,000 bonus miles and 15,000 MQM; if you spend $60,000 or more you’ll earn an additional 15,000 bonus miles and an additional 15,000 MQM
  • 0% introductory APR on purchases for six months
  • $250,000 spend across all American Express Delta cards currently results in a MQD waiver through Diamond Medallion.  (previously $25,000)
  • Delta Sky Club access (can also bring two guests for $29 per person. Keep in mind you must be arriving or departing on a Delta marketed or operated flight to be eligible for access). Authorized users also get this access, previously they were $175 each but possibly free now?
  • Companion Certificate (domestic first class or main cabin round trip companion)
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 2x miles on Delta purchases
    • 1x miles on all other purchases
  • Holding this card is used as a tie breaker for upgrades

Our Verdict

Previous high on this bonus was 40,000 miles + 10,000 MQM so this is an extra 30,000 miles. Personally I still don’t think this card is worth signing up for unless you need the Delta benefits desperately. Even if you need MQM you’d be better off getting the Delta Platinum card. The only thing that really offers the $450 annual fee is the Delta Sky Club access and even then you need to be flying Delta to use it. I won’t be adding this to the best credit card bonuses, because I don’t think this is worth paying $450 on. As always if you have questions about, please read this post first before asking them.

How about Personal Reserve, increased as well? Sounds weird to me if they only increase the Business version but not the personal.

Just signed up for this card yesterday. Does not come with any free authorized users. Each additional cardholder is $175/each (even more than the Amex Platinum!)

Wouldn’t the companion certificate make it worth it though?

Looks like with especially the fact that it can be a domestic first class ticket.

One might argue the “highest ever” Delta Reserve Biz. bonus ended two days ago (9/19/18) with the expiration of the Delta Reserve Business + Skybonus offer (40k miles; 70k Skybonus points; 10k MQM after 5k spend). I suppose it’s a subjective determination of 30k miles v. 70k Skybonus pts.

Lately Amex keeps declining sign up bonuses for me and friends I constantly sign up for different cards with that new famous pop up window (based on your history with sign up bonuses etc) even though we have less then 5 cards and never applied for this specific card.

if AU is free and can get through DL lounge, i think its a good card since you can add all your family members

but there is a question mark there so I am not sure if the info is accurate

AU cards are $175 each… Primary cardholder gets up to 2 free guests when flying Delta/code-share, otherwise every pays a discounted $29-each lounge access when not flying Delta/code-share.

Lounge policy is not accurate, I was never able to bring in free guests even if everyone was on delta flight.

Per the Amex policy:
https://www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/benefits/detail/delta-sky-club-access-for-reserve/delta-reserve

It’s 2 guests, but each at a discount rate.

I think the only way you get in guests for free is with diamond medallion status (regardless of card ownership)
