[Expired] [Update] American Express Green 50,000 Points + 20% Credit On Restaurant Spend (Max $150)

Deal has ended, view more credit card bonuses by clicking here.

Update: Multiple readers report that this Resy offer on the Green card (specifically) seems to be working even for some who typically get popup messages of ineligibility. Worth trying this one out, even if you are typically popup-denied.

The Offer

Direct Link to offer

American Express is offering a sign up bonus on the consumer Green card as follows:

  • Get 20% back as a statement credit when you make a purchase at restaurants worldwide within the first 12 months of Card Membership, up to $150 back.

This offer is showing on the Resy website (restaurant reservation app), but the 20% credit is showing for any restaurant spend, unrelated to using Resy.

Card Benefits

  • Annual fee of $150 (not waived first year)
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 3x points on
      • Restaurants worldwide
      • Travel including flights, hotels, transit, taxis and ridesharing services.
    • 1x points on all other purchases
  • $100 CLEAR credit per calendar year
  • $100 Loungebuddy credit per calendar year
  • No foreign transaction fees

Our Verdict

At one point, there were some people getting 60,000 points offer on the AmEx Green card via referral link which could arguably be better if you are in 2-player mode, but this is the best public offer we’ve seen. Really a terrific offer.

Keep in mind the sign up bonus is once per lifetime. There’s also an offer from Resy on the Gold and Platinum consumer cards. See this post to learn about whether the Green card counts as one of your AmEx spots. As always please read this post on everything you should know about American Express cards. We’ll add this bonus to our List of Best Credit Card Signup Bonuses.

The link you supplied to Resy no longer appears to apply for Amex Green, only Gold, Platinum, and Blue Cash Everyday

I am not seeing this Amex Green offer at the Resy link. Instead the third offer is for Blue Cash Everyday® for a $200 bonus + 10% back on Dining up to $150 back.

I am still able to see the old set of Resy amex offers landing page, including the Green Resy offer, on certain browsers that visited the page in the past month or two. Here’s an application link to the 50K + 20% back offer: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/card-application/apply/american-express-green-card/46100-10-0

The no AF Wells Fargo autograph makes this green Amex not competitive.

First time I see popup jail. I currently hold Platinum, Gold, EDP, Delta Plat. I have closed a Gold in the past, was over 4 years ago. Interesting that NOW I get the popup… I want the green to earn travel points and not use my Chase Sapphire Reserve. I guess they will lose out on business. 830+ credit score

I’ve been in pop-up jail for over 5 years now. Is this something you eventually get released from or should I just give up on Amex?

Nice but no 20% up to $250 back on restaurants.

Not very many restaurants qualify for discount.

I see no indication for exclusion of restaurants. The restaurant may not be supported by Resy, but that is inconsequential. Per the Amex offer terms, the 20% back is based on merchant code.
