plenti points

The Fine Print

  • Valid until December 31st, 2016
  • You can transfer a minimum of 500 points
  • You must transfer in increments of 500 points

Our Verdict

This is the first transfer bonus American Express have offered for Plenti points (you can view all of their past bonuses by clicking here). Plenti points are worth 1¢ when redeeming for merchants within the Plenti coalition loyalty program (e.g Exxon, AT&T and more). This means you can basically get 1.5¢ per point in value if you needed to pay cash for any of these merchants anyway, I personally don’t think that’s a terrible redemption rate but really depends on how highly you value membership rewards. I do think that most of the Plenti partners suck so I won’t be transferring any of my points. What about you? Let me know in the comments.

This actually seems like an awesome deal presuming you can get to a gas station or Rite Aid that takes them. MR points seem in general overvalued– hard to get more than 1cpp under normal circumstances unless you are flying all the time and can find award available from the right MR transfer partners (not all of us churners take a flight every week).

1.5cpp and easily redeemable? I will take it. Sitting on over 130K MR points between wife and I. I was about to do the whole Iberia bonus, then transfer to BA, then make a household account, hope that some day I can fit in vacations that line up with BA network availability (and avoiding their crazy taxes on BA flights).

What a hassle! I’ll take free gas for the next 2 years, thank you very much AmEx.

The one Mobil station that I’ve tried so far said that you need to come inside
to have them apply points from Plenti. It didn’t work at pump.
Hoping other Mobil stations work w/o having to go in.

Just FYI, I have now redeemed Plenti points at the pump at 3 different Mobile stations across IL. Very easy– you can type in your number and zip, scan in the keychain card, or swipe the full sized card. You do have to swipe a card as well but it does not get charged if you use the Plenti points. I also seem to get credited back random amounts of Plenti points for reasons I don’t understand. So my receipt will say “Used 2245 Plenti points for $22.45 of fuel. Earned 4 Plenti points.” Max redemption for gas is $25 each time, but if you had a bigger tank you could just run multiple $25 transactions.

I also ordered some random supplies from RiteAid online (got enough to get free shipping, as there are no RiteAids in the Chicago area) entirely with Plenti points. The products they have available for delivery aren’t great, but still an easy way to stock up on toiletries and the like even if you don’t live near a RiteAid.

All in all super pleased with this redemption option.

Austin if your bill is that high at AT&T might want to check a biz acct at Harbor Mobile for AT&T. I have an acct through them with T-Mobile (legacy now as they changed to AT&T) $53 all in for unlimited everything.

Any luck using the plenti points to buy EXXON gift cards at gas stations?

You can pay AT&T wireless bills with Plenti points at 1c/point, correct?

If so, that’s a pretty good redemption for something I have to pay for anyways!
I just applied for the PRG 40k+25k second year offer. I pay $60/month for cell coverage, but I could transfer those 40k MR points to 60k Plenti points and get 10 months of free cell coverage ($600 value), plus 3x $100 airline credits (Amazon GC) and another 25,000 MR points, all for one $195 annual fee… At minimum, that’s $955 value for 1 hard pull and 4k min spend – and that’s if I just value those 25k MR at 1c/point.

Not. Bad.

actually nothing else worth buying at RA. Got about 2k Plenti points last month while buying One vanilla cards with Plenti points deal. Groceries much cheaper on just about everything RA sells. Goes for CVS also.

I have been buying gallons of milk at RA with Plenti points (3 small ones at home). I will definitely do this offer. Free milk!! Have about 60k MR points from sign up bonus. They charge 2.63/gallon in CT with Plenti card 2.79 gal with Plenti card in NY. I live on the border.

Has anyone tried to pay their ATT bill with Plenti and then request a refund in the form of a check?

My AT&T bill is linked to my Plenti card, I get 85 Pts per month.

I guess if I was to pay say $1000 it would credit towards Plenti pts.
