Our Verdict

You can see how these bonuses compare by going to our complete list of transfer bonuses page. Don’t think we have ever seen American Express offer so many transfer bonuses at once before. Avios is the main deal that standards out to me.

William Charles I think you’re also missing the 20% Delta bonus from this list?

From my MR page: “Special Offer: Get 20% more Delta SkyMiles when you transfer Membership Rewards points through 10/15/2021.”

Dang… I just transferred 200k to aeroplan for biz class flights. I went ahead and gave Amex a quick call, not expecting anything, and got exactly what I expected. Only if transferred during the promotion.

The best deal here is actually LifeMiles. It’s 15% from AMEX, but as it turns out LifeMiles is running their own 15% transfer bonus on AMEX transfers right now at the same time, and the 2 bonuses are reported to be stacking. So that’s an effective 32.5% transfer bonus.

That’s what I thought. Got the email from Lifemiles and it definitely read like it was their own bonus, and this happened before, maybe last year. Glad to see it’s stacking.

Is there a link to that 15% transfer bonus offer from lifemiles’ side?

I didn’t see it here: https://www.lifemiles.com/deals/all-deals

Does AMEX ever have a transfer bonus to Delta? I want to transfer but I’d like a bonus.

I’ve seen a 10% bonus within the last year.

Some salt on converting my points with no bonus for a flight recently. Big BA fan for American Airline domestic flights in the US though. Maybe time to move more points into it hmmm

May be a silly question, but can I use Avios on my British airways account to book flight for someone else?

Yes you can! But they may require proof that they are friends or family (to make sure you didn’t sell the points) – could even be a last minute call when they’re checking in.

Got it, thanks. In this case it is my family, so should not be a problem.

Hilton is a 40 – 50% boost all the time, 30% is a hard pass.

Hi there! I’ve never actually transferred to Hilton but I’m waiting for a good bonus for a trip in planning. Do you mean they often have 40-50% transfer bonuses? Thanks!

Yup. There’s a link in the article to see the past transfer bonuses for each program. Take a look at the frequency and size of the bonuses to determine if it’s worth waiting.

I would note that the EU is slapping travel restrictions on again….so if the plan is to use these for TATL might be a bit harder. IKON ski pass sent me a solicitation today offering more access to Kitzbuhel complex as well as Dolomiti areas….hah. Not so easy to get there

Not even sure the US areas I go to are going to be ok, given the massive fires out west
