American Express has posted some small credits categorized as ‘AMERICAN EXPRESS COMNEW YORK’ in the last 24-48 hours. The credits seem to be either $5 or $10, when contacted American Express customer service reps are stating these credits are a goodwill credit but don’t specifically state why. In my experience usually we see these types of goodwill adjustments when the American Express legal team decide that the American Express Rewards Abuse Team have done something that maybe they shouldn’t. That being said there isn’t anything specific that I can remember that would result in a $5 or $10 credit so I guess we will just have to wait and see.
[Note from Chuck: I’m fairly certain these are the Shop Small credits. Some of my Shop Small credits come through under the merchants name, and others come through as AMERICAN EXPRESS COMNEW YORK. I even see them in my ‘Savings’ tab under Amex Offers.]
