Our Verdict

Interesting that you have to sign up on the AeroMexico site rather than it appearing directly on the American Express site. Transfer bonuses to AeroMexico are rare, previous bonuses include:

If you value AeroMexico miles then now is definitely your chance to redeem MR for an extra 25%. I’m not that familiar with the program, so feel free to share any sweet spots in the comments below. Keep in mind American Express has other transfer bonuses currently available:

Aeromexico/Club Premier is the absolute worst… I have a flight that I’m trying to book within 10 days and I transferred 32k MR pts to Club Premier, which took 2 days, but they didn’t actually add in the 25% bonus. Now I’m sitting here with less miles than I need to book the flights and Club Premier has been no help at all – They told me to email support (no phone number available) and they also confirmed that I was registered for the promo, yet it’s been a total mess.

When I first got into this hobby AM was one of the first FF programs I started looking at and I was so bewildered at the fact they called their currency kilometers…I thought maybe the rest of the world used km and I was going to have to do all kind of converting from my US point systems! In reality it’s even more complicated but that makes hard conversion rules meaningless.

Aeromexico isn’t known for having the greatest award chart.

64k MR r/t to Europe in J with the bonus — good luck beating that.
(If you can find Skyteam availability, of course…that’s the hard part).

Does it pass on fees? There’s usually decent Air France/KLM availability, but fees on flyingblue tend to suck.
