Update 08/15/18: We finally have some additional details regarding the Centurion Suite. It will offer the following:
- Complimentary premium snacks, small bites and water, in addition to one complimentary drink (beer, wine or cocktail)*. Additional selection of finely crafted cocktails, beer and wine will be available for purchase.
- A special dish created by Cédric Vongerichten, Executive Chef of The Centurion Lounge at LaGuardia Airport, as well as wine pairings curated by The Centurion Lounge Wine Director, Anthony Giglio
- A unique photo moment to share their US Open experience at the Centurion Suite
- Flat-screen TVs
- Phone charging stations
- Dedicated WiFi network and restrooms
It will be open from 12:00-8:00 pm from August 27-September 5 and 12:00-5:00 pm from September 6-9. Seems like it’ll be worth going to to grab the one free complimentary drink and a few snacks and relaxing before leaving again.
Original post: American Express will be offering a number of benefits to cardholders at the 2018 US Open Tennis Championships. Benefits include:
- $20 statement credit when you spend $100 or more in purchases at participating merchants
- American Express Card Member Club access.
- Mobile Phone Charging Rentals.
- AmEx band for contactless payments
- American Express Radios
- US Open Merchandise
The above benefits are offered to all American Express cardholders. Platinum & Centurion cardholders will also get access to the ‘American Express Centurion Suite Access in Louis Armstrong Stadium’. Details are sparse on what this entails and as far as I know this is the first time this has been offered. The fine print states that access will be for the primary cardholder and up to two guests and availability will be on a first come first served basis. It does mention you need to be 21 to enjoy alcoholic beverages but it doesn’t mention if those beverages are complimentary.
Chase has it’s own lounge with free snacks & drinks, but that isn’t open for registration for 2018 yet.

Do I need a Louis Armstrong ticket to get into Centurion Lounge, or is General Admission fine?
can you go in and out multiple times?
How many guests can you bring in? Do they swipe your card or you just show it? I’m going with a group of four people.
I think +1
You are the best William – thanks! We’ll be checking it out that first Monday. Our 3rd points & miles US Open. The best freebie is Friday, 8/24 – free grounds access to watch qualifier rounds – the last few players fighting it out for just a few last spots in the tournament. And you can see many of the top 20 players practicing, much closer than regular matches.
Enjoy! Watching qualifier rounds is great fun
Hi Will,
Do you know if they sell special price ticket to the US open for amex cardholder this year?
Thanks!
Not sure, you’d think it would be advertised on that page if they did but maybe announced later?
They did. Tickets were first available back in June.
They had the centurion lounge last year. It was really just a unique lounge. I still had to pay for drinks and food but there was no lines. Lots of trinket giveaways. They also several family events. It was more like a super fancy tent with lots of activities and other sponsors with booths.
Is it inside the tennis grounds? Can you get there without a ticket?
Yes, no
Cheap, are we? Geez!
A lot of people on this blog are frugal and love free stuff.
