Gas discounts are always nice. I can’t find this one, it’s being reported by reader Debit and by blueeyes_austin. If anyone can send over an image in the comments or to chuck@doctorofcredit, we’ll add it in.
This will stack nice if you find it on the same card as the separate Amex Offer to get 10% off any US gas station as they should stack and give you 20% off.

This would be nice if Costco gas was not 23% cheaper than all others in my area right now.
I did get the 1x more MR point for Lowes in-store and online purchases. Amazing that it actually mentions in-store for this one, which is good. Lowe’s amex offers are the only useful offers I’ve gotten since August.
Don’t forget there’s also Sam’s Club and Safeway gas stations that accept amex.
No sams club in kona. And Hilo’s Safeway is the only one with gas right now. Theirs is only 15 cents cheaper than other gas stations in the area I believe
Weird, Oahu’s Safeway gas is the same price as Costco.
I can only speak for our family. But nowadays we are rarely getting any of these offers which help with the basics in life. Instead, about all that will pop up is spending $200 or 300 at a place where we would never shop anyway to get $40 or 50 back. AMEX offers have not only become far less valuable for us as a feature of their cards they’re simply poorly targeted.
Stack it with Safeway Gas Rewards, valid at Chevron/Texaco.
There’s a bit of calculation required now to estimate the best option for Safeway reward points. For example, 7 Rewards equals a discount of 70c/ gal for gas OR $10 off your next shopping order. But since most Chevron stations are overpriced compared to the competition the total value of using the reward as a fuel discount is diminished. However, that may not be true in all locations. So you have to do the math according to the pricing in your area.
