Check your Amex login for the following offer:

  • Get a $20 statement credit when spending $200 with a registered Amex card at Enterprise, National, or Alamo.

The Fine Print

  • Valid through September 30, 2018.
  • $200 spend can be met in a single transaction or combined across multiple transactions.
  • Must book directly with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, or Alamo Rent A Car. Offer valid only at US websites (partners.rentalcar.com/amexehi, enterprise.com, nationalcar.com, alamo.com), via US mobile apps, and at any participating locations in the US and US territories.
  • Car rentals must be completed by offer end date.
  • Not valid for previously completed rentals, or for bookings made through travel agents, third parties, or affiliate sites.
  • Excludes Enterprise Truck, Enterprise CarShare, RideShare by Enterprise, Car Sales, Fleet Management Solutions, Entertainment & Production Rentals, Meetings & Group Rentals, General Aviation/FBO Rentals, Tour Operator bookings and purchases with Travel Partners (such as Airfare, Train, Hotel).
  • Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels.

Our Verdict

Nice discount, just make sure you aren’t overpaying by booking direct. Remember to use a shopping portal as well. There’s also a 10% off Avis deal on Amex business cards.

Got an older version of this deal a few months back. Worked fine when booking through Autoslash/priceline. As long as your card isn’t charged until they swipe and you drive off, the charge should show as coming direct from the merchant.

Interesting but my guess is savings will mostly be “lost in the wash” as compared to picking a better card or using Priceline/Autoslash.

I rented a car out in la even with the extra $20 off all three was still more expensive than dollar car rental

I noticed it a few days ago… a couple days after I rented a car from Enterprise. I also noticed a 10% back offer from Avis on my Simplicity Cash Plus business card. John 3:16
