[Expired] Amex Business Offers: 10% Back at Avis, Stack with Amazon Offer

This offer has now expired, view more American Express offers by clicking here.

The Offer

Check your Amex login on small business cards to save the following offer on the card:

  • Get 10% back on rentals directly from Avis. Doesn’t look like there is a $100 limit

The Fine Print

  • Valid through 11/30/18
  • Must rent directly with Avis Rent A Car
  • Offer valid only for rentals made through US website, US mobile app, by calling US phone reservations, or at Avis locations in the US and US territories
  • Eligible rentals must be paid by 11/30/2018 in order to qualify
  • Not valid for bookings made through travel agents, third parties, or affiliate booking sites
  • Excludes Budget & Payless brands, Chauffeur Drive, Car Sales, Scooter rentals, e-Toll and purchases with travel partners for lodging, airfare, ground transportation, or parking

Our Verdict

Amex discontinued their OPEN program, and now releases various Amex Offer deals on business cards instead. This Avis offer is the latest one in that series. All of these go through November.

This will stack with the Avis-Amazon partnership discounts and 10% rebate, or even 20% rebate for Alexa users. Could land up with a nice deal all-in.

I am not seeing the $100 total limit on this offer (unlike Staples, Lowes, etc.)

They also added a 10% offer for business. Limit $25 back.

Also added fedex, not the freight one from earlier. This one pairs well with my shipping category on simply cash.

this thing has no limit?

Got both Boxed and Avis offers. Had no idea about Amazon Avis deal… really great deal and I need a rental next week. One problem… we don’t have an Avis anywhere in my area…I gotta move back to civilization!! John 3:16

Does Amex’s rental insurance cover personal car rentals charged to business cards?

none of amex cards has primary coverage if that’s the Q

If you book a car rental for an upcoming visit to a European city using the US site, would this discount apply to the car rental, assuming the rental takes place during the applicable offer period? The terms and conditions don’t seem to address this situation directly, although the terms do make clear that the offer would only apply to walk-up rentals in the US and US territories. If anyone obtains any actual data points about this, I would be interested in hearing about it.
