Amex Offers: $50 off $200 at NeimanMarcus.com – Moneymaker

The Offer

There’s a new offer from Amex showing in all Amex logins:

  • Spend $200 at neimanmarcus.com with an enrolled card and get a $50 statement credit

Screen Shot 2017-01-17 at 11.17.01 AM

The Fine Print

  • Valid through 3/16/17
  • Valid online only
  • Not valid on purchases shipped outside of the US
  • Excludes NM Last Call website and stores

Our Verdict

The terms don’t exclude gift cards which makes this is one of those easy reselling moneymakers. Neiman gift cards can be resold for around 83% of their value.

Added to that, there have been many successes with the portal on NM gift card purchases. Be aware that the portal terms always exclude gift cards so consider the portal an added bonus if it comes through.

Given the current rates, you’d net $16 per Amex card + the portal if it comes through.

Keep in mind that the resell rates on these cards will likely tank since this offer is available to all, and it’s more than likely that you won’t actually get 83% by the time your cards come.

Also note that physically shipped gift cards have a shipping fee of $5 per card. E-cards ship free but might be harder to sell on some exchanges.

Check out these Things to Know about Amex Offers.

Update: Shopping portals are now clawing back portals earnings so the portal angle is out.

I’m going to continue what I have been doing – which is to daily send in one more sale – and hope it goes through as an e-certificate, that they accept it, and that then then actually pay out on it. Slowly but surely – that has worked for me. Not a game I’d get into again, though I’m glad I tried it out. If I can’t sell them? In the end – we have a Neiman Marcus in town, and I just might upgrade the wardrobe when they have a sale.

What are you doing about the gc they asked you to mail in? Are you going to try to cancel the order or email them like Ken did?

How much did you buy in total? If Cardpool doesn’t buy it you could try to sell it on Raise. You won’t make as much but it shouldn’t be a loss either (assuming you did the Amex Offer).

I emailed them 2 days ago to ask if they really wanted me to mail in the e-certificate. No reply yet. I also sent in another $200 in e-gift certificates (2 days ago) which they say they bought – but haven’t gotten a “check is in the mail” or “no we were just kidding” notice. So I wait . . .

Cardpool has now accepted electronically about half of the NM giftcards I purchased. All went through electronically – but most were rescinded a few days later by their risk team. Some of those were resubmitted then accepted and paid out. I cannot detect a pattern. On no occasion did they ask me to physically send in the email/card.

I submitted a single $100 card to Cardpool last week and on my order confirmation screen it said I had to mail the card into them. How long did it take to get paid after you submitted your order, and did they email you? This is the order confirmation email I received from them:
——————–

For the first time (I think) I just received the message you received. I didn’t notice it – until I double checked after looking at your message. Prior to that when they said via email that they were sending a check – it took about a week to actually get it.

When they purchased and then rescinded it – the rescind email would come late the same day, or within about three days.

I’m a novice here as well. Did you send them the e-certificate? I’m assuming their system thinks there is a physical gift card. I doubt they really want you to send them a copy of your email e-giftcard. Anyone else have more definitive answer?

This is exactly what I worried would happen if I had gone through with the sale. What are you going to do now? Do they accept printed eGC by mail?

I sent them a message on Facebook and they replied to my case. They said I didn’t have to mail anything in. I’m keeping my fingers crossed till I receive my check.

Did you message them on FB? Did you get any kind of email saying that your check was sent? I have received nothing from them.

I did email them several days ago asking how to tell if a gc was electronic or not but never heard back. Now that you confirmed they didn’t need to be mailed I decided to go through with the sale. Since I didn’t receive the “mail” message like you did there’s no reason for me to contact them again.

For you people that sold Neiman Marcus gc to Cardpool did they accept them electronically or did you need to mail them? Did Cardpool advise you before or after the sale was completed? I’m asking because I added a gc to test it but it never revealed to me if it was available for electronic submission so I cancelled the transaction before completion.

Has anyone received their money from Gift Card Zen on this deal? After I sold them the first card, where they told me a check would arrive within a month, they seemed to have switched to paying you by paypal within 10 days. That’s great, but I don’t really see how they have you paypal account. There’s some discussion above about “verifying” it, but I’ve never seen that.

I guess I could call them about this, and probably should, but their phone number seems to just go to voice mail.

With the cashbacks being clawed back, there’s probably not enough incentive to do more of these, give the difficulties and uncertainties of dealing with the gift card buying companies.

Just got paid from GCZ this morning. $83 for $100 worth of GC. I have one more sale that I submitted one day later $332 for $400 worth that I’m still waiting for. Payment was via Paypal.

Me too. Though they claimed I was already paid on Feb 9th which is not the case. WIsh I’d sold all my remaining GCs since rates are really low now.

My 25*200 on the 17th with cardpool are still “pending review”, making me a bit uneasy. Not sure if I should search for other avenues.

Cardpool finally declined my eGCs after taking their sweet time.

Sent my 2nd batch off to GCZ and already to payment – within an hour so I wouldn’t worry about it too much, as long as you can float the $5k you should be good to go. Still at 83% payout so managed to get $16/offer + portal for all.

Did you do Paypal payment? I did and haven’t received my payment yet and it’s been since the 23rd.

GCZ is supposed to take weeks to pay out. I think it’s 10 business days but DP’s I’ve seen it’s ~3-4 weeks to get paid.

I didn’t verify my paypal with them initially but I did that after I submitted and they accepted and moved to payout processing within an hour.

I actually didn’t see any other way to get paid but that could’ve been Adblock.

This batch was lower volume then my 2nd i.e only 3x$200

I only did $100 this time and it’s the first time using PP with GCZ.

What does verifying PP with them do, and how do you do it? I can find a way to link my PP account, but it look slike that’s only for buying GCs and not selling to them.

I was told 10 days when I submitted the sell order, and then yesterday I get an email saying that my payment was processed and it will take another 10 days for me to get it. I can’t even find where to enter my PP email now.

Giftcardzen -> chaseaholic -> settings = look below “change your password”.

if you entered your paypal account successfully it should say “Your PayPal account is already saved for faster checkout. Thanks!”

I don’t know if that does anything, new to these guys. But it sure made me feel better

yeah ABC is much nicer IME. Quick payouts & acceptance.

We’ll see how GCZ is but looks good so far, quick processing -> payouts. I don’t really mind the delay in payout time personally for this batch.

It’s not a large amount of float, but I could understand the people that bought $5k++ getting frustrated by the wait.

FWIW, I cleared about $2k of cards that I had bought with the United portal (jury still out there), yesterday on Raise for about $12 profit per $200 card. They all sold within a few hours of listing.

81% value seems good FWIW, was GCZ not worth the hassle to you for the extra ~2%?
Also how long does Raise take to payout in your experience?

Going to have to call cardpool to cancel my order it looks like 🙁
Managed to get first batch off to ABC before the price tanked.

FWIW NM has posted for me on Chase & AS & SAH for the GC’s.

Too soon to say whether or not they will get clawed back though.

Just tried selling some to Cardpool

Can anyone confirm that this actually works with eGC’s for CP?

Not sure if I’m just wasting my time with them now since I got the “here’s a shipping label, send us your cards” even though I entered them in online. Had no problems doing this with Nike the other day but these apparently need to be mailed in even though their website says they take them electronically…

I sold some on the first day and got my check already. I just sold 2 more $200 cards and got the shipping label info as well. I think they have stopped taking them electronically for now.

I sold to cardpool about a week ago and had the option of selling e-GC. It looks like that option is gone, but that’s not clear if you’re new to this site. A week ago, it let me choose physical GC vs e-GC.
