[Expired] Amex Offers: Ebags Get $20 or 2,000 Points with $100 Purchase, Stack with Portal and Promo Code for Huge Discounts

Deal has expired, view more Ebags deals by clicking here.

The Offer

Check your American Express login for one of the following offers:

  • Get a $20 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $100+ in one or more transactions online at eBags.com by 6/17/2019.
  • Get 2,000 bonus Membership Rewards points when using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $100+ in one or more transactions online at eBags.com by 6/17/2019.

The Fine Print

  • $100 can be spent in a single transaction or split across multiple transactions.
  • Valid online only.
  • Not valid on purchases shipped outside of the US.

Stacking the Deal

  • Get $20 or 2,000 points with $100 purchase from Amex with this deal.
  • Remember, each person can save one cash offer and one points offer if you got them both. If you have the offer on two cards (or if you have one offer yourself and one from P2), you can buy a gift card and apply it at checkout, and pay the remainder with the second card. Max one gift card can be applied per order. If you are purchasing smaller items, you can – of course – just split up each item in a separate purchase.
  • Topcashback is currently offering 20% back sitewide on Ebags; that’s about as good as it gets. This offer ends today, 4/1/19. See Cashbackmonitor for other portal options.
  • I’m seeing promo code 20YEAR on the Ebags site for 25% offer, expires today. Not positive if that’ll stack with the portal, but I’m optimistic. Dealswelike found that when clicking through Topcashback, the system auto-populates promo code IMRGEN at checkout for 20% off. I’m seeing the same. Being that it posts that way automatically, it should presumably stack with the portal.
  • Signup for Ebags Rewards and get up to 10% back on your purchase toward a future purchase. (hat tip to runningwithmiles)
  • Let us know of any other available stacks.

Our Verdict

I’m seeing the $20 offer on all my cards, not the 2,000 points offer. Ebags becomes especially worthwhile when stacking the discounts for over 50% off.

If you are new to Ebags, appreciate if you use my Ebags referral link to signup. (They usually offer a $10 credit for new signups, though I’m not seeing that now – looks like they are offering 25% off promo code instead for the new member.) If you are new to Topcashback, appreciate if you use my Topcashback referral link to signup. (Currently, there is no signup bonus for new member, unfortunately.)

Looking at purchasing three carry-ons for an upcoming trip. TCB is currently 15%. Does TCB trigger cash back on gift cards? Hoping to double dip on the TCB with purchasing Ebags gift card? Would this work?

1. Purchase Ebags $100 GC:
$100 – $20 (Amex Offer) – $15 (15% TCB off of $100) = $65
2. Purchase $200 of merchandise (with $100 GC and 2nd Amex card):
$200 – $20 (Amex Offer) – $30 (15% TCB off of $200) – $100 GC = $50

Total cost $115 plus tax

ANA destroyed my bag so once back in USA there was an eBags offer on my ED card so I bought a new bag from them and discount. I’ll soon be flying JAL and if they destroy my bag I’ll be back in time to get another ordered with this offer.

No Amex offer on my Schwab Platinum, but I did use it last time it popped up in November.

Confirm that you cannot stack the 20YEAR code with the IMRGEN TopCashBack code – only one code per transaction. I’m not certain if de-linking the code will cause TopCashBack to fail to process, so a safer route may be to get 12% back via ebates.

Also should be noted that some of the pricier items / items that are sometimes bought and flipped with these sales (such as QC35 II headphones) are no longer eligible for any of the coupon codes.

If you have an older backpack/suitcase lying around, you can donate it at no cost and get a $25 gift certificate to ebags – search “ebags trade in trade up”. However I think the $25 is given back in the form of a gift certificate, and you can’t stack it with a purchased gift certificate. So this would only be useful if you’re doing multiple orders – however a side benefit of that is that you can take advantage of the ebags rewards earned from the previous orders.

Most items should be shoprunner eligible as well.

TCB/20YEAR is not stacking for me. It makes you choose which promo at checkout.

The offer is showing on Amex SERVE as well.

I like how serve gets like the $300 fancy wine, $500 bulgari, and $5000 cruise offer on it — yea, that seems like the right target market for sure.

Also Rakuten/ebates has 12% back or 12 Amex pts/$ (which I value at about 2 cents/pts for effectively 24% back). If you have the Rakuten toolbar plugin it auto populates the 20YEAR coupon, so I assume it will stack.

I’m seeing the code 20YEAR on the Ebags site for 25% offer, not 20% off as stated in the article.

Also there’s a long list of brand exclusions from getting the full 25% discount from that code: https://www.ebags.com/help/brandexclusions

One brand I’m looking at is only getting 15% off with 20YEAR.
