There are a number of travel-related Amex Offers which came up recently. Some very targeted and some more widely available.
- [Targeted] Spend $300 on any airline with a registered Amex card and get a $75 statement credit. Expires 9/15/15.
- [Targeted] Spend $300 on any airline with a registered Amex card and get a $50 statement credit. Expires 9/15/15.
- Spend $600 on a hotel booking at amextravel.com with a registered Amex card and receive $100 statement credit. Expires 9/30/15.
- Spend $2000 at qantas.com with a registered Amex card and receive a $400 statement credit. Expires 8/15/15.
- Receive a complimentary 4th night when you book 3 consecutive nights at select hotels by 8/31/15. Terms apply.
- Spend $350 at Hilton Hotels & Resorts with a registered Amex card and receive a $75 statement credit. Expires 9/8/15. Brand exclusions apply.
The most exciting offers are the first two offers mentioned which will give an offer credit for any airline booking. These are highly targeted offers.
Two interesting points mentioned:
- You may be able to stack the $400 Qantas offer with the $75/50 back on airline travel.
- Purchasing gift cards from airlines may work to trigger the $300 spend for the airline credit.
Another interesting thing is that you may be able to combine the 4th-night offer – which is booked through Amex Travel – with the $100 offer credit for $600 in spend on Amex Travel.

Update: The $75 credit was posted on August 15. Yay!
I have the $75 Off $300 Airlines Offer. I just purchased a $300 Electronic Gift Card directly from Delta’s website and as soon as the purchased went through I received this email from AMEX.
Thanks for using your Amex Offer at DELTA AIR LINES. Look out for a $75.00 statement credit within 90 days after the offer end date.
I will update again if I received the statement credit earlier (sometimes they posted before offer end date).
I originally didn’t get the $50 off $300. Today it appeared. Does it work on GCs
Should work on gift cards if the airline themselves process the card. Milestomemories wrote a post on this.
The Hilton $75 off $350 offer says reservations must be made direct (online or by phone). Would Amex really know how I made a reservation insofar as determining my eligibility for the offer?
I have reserved a room via a conference organizer, but I will settle the folio at check out with my card — so the charge will be from Hilton. Is that enough to trigger the offer credit?
I didn’t look well at this offer in particular, but usually with Amex hotel offers you don’t need to do the booking. We’ve written before about Marriott offers etc.
Any chance of getting the $75 off $300 or $50 off $300 air deal through sync if we haven’t been targeted. Have no use for $100 off $600 Hotels 🙁
Not yet, when/if it becomes possible you better believe we will post about it.
Ahh, figured as much. Bummer. Thanks for the reply DoC
any tips for getting the hilton offer if i dont see it in my offers list?
Random data point re: “Spend $350 at Hilton Hotels & Resorts with a registered Amex card and receive a $75 statement credit. Expires 9/8/15. Brand exclusions apply.”
From the last time this was offered… Hilton Inn and Suites do not seem to trigger the credit even though they’re under the Hilton Hotel and Resorts brand. I had to call and request it.
Who did you call? I’ve never found a phone rep who even heard of Amex Offers.
So your question prompted me to go back and look at my records which is when I realized something…
To recount my experience back in late March… the first person I spoke with was a week or so after my initial qualifying transaction. I expressed concern the credits had not posted immediately like other offers and they gave me the run around with up to 90-days to post spiel and to call back if they still had not posted then. I pressed the issue and they said they would request someone to look into it. A week or two went by when I called back again since, not surprisingly, nothing ever came of that promise. I spoke with someone that was much more helpful. He asked for the offer code etc. They did some investigation, determined I had met the conditions, and basically issued a $50 statement credit to each account right then and there. Fast forward three months later(which was a week or so ago) and the offer credits just posted. Color me surprised. Can’t say I’ve ever seen an Amex offer take that long to post(it was actually over 90 days). I guess I should have been more patient… but to your point yes Amex support agents will credit your account if you get the right person on the line, have the offer code and details handy, and it appears you met the conditions. It’s also very YMMV as will all CSR calls.
If someone has tried buying a $300GC and had it trigger the $75 credit; could you please post here. That would make this offer really easy to use. Thanks.
I did. It worked.
