Our Verdict

This stacks with the $200 in Business Platinum credits. Amex won’t let you double-take on this as they’ve clawed back the double-take in the past, so be sure to spend $222 so that there’s $200 charge left and you can hopefully get the full $100 credit. Go through a shopping portal as well.

I’m will buy a $1300 laptop. So I am eligible for the 10% off, but how can I get the extra $100 credit?(I have never purchased anything from dell).

any dp if Microsoft Xbox CG would trigger trigger? (regardless of TOS) I am curious if Dell provides level III details to amex.

If you’re asking about the biz plat credits, then yes, XBOX GCs work to trigger the credit

Dam it! Again, I missed this by 2 days. I just ordered something last Saturday to just my Plat credits 🙁

Thanks for the notification.

Added to Amex Business Platinum and will use with $200 Dell Credit.

Important to note: Dell does not charge the card until the order ships. Make sure the item is in stock and will ship before 12/31/20.

Last two orders through dell took over 1 month and at least 3 months (canceled before it ever shipped) respectively. So make sure what ever you order is in stock, because they don’t bill until it ships, which could be well after deal expires

Yep! Ordered a Fire10 to arrive in Aug, slight delay of two weeks at time of purchase. Last delay has a post-Thanksgiving ship date. Cancelled & bought elsewhere. They will happily sell things they don’t have in stock & have no clue when it will be in stock.

Even worse the chat customer support rep tried telling me I couldn’t cancel the order because they had already started assembling it. Even told me that calling in wouldn’t change anything because phone reps can’t cancel either at that point. Which was complete and utter BS, phone agent got it taken care of easily, but definitely learned a lesson about ordering from dell

It doesn’t even matter if its in stock – it may be wrong.

Do you mean “be sure to spend at least $222 so that there’s a $200 charge left and you can hopefully get the full $200 credit?”

No, because the credit is split into two six-month periods. $100 from January – June, another $100 from July – December. Just like the Saks credit on the regular Platinum where the you get two $50 credits.

shootingstar This year it’s $200/$200 instead of $100/$100 because of COVID.

Has it been enforced in the past that you need to go through dell.com/amex or will any purchases from the Dell website qualify?

Last go round It worked without /amex.

As a data point, I’ve never gone through dell.com/amex on this same offer over the years and have always still gotten the credit.

That’s true, charged by Dell would work.
