Our Verdict
Fairly common offer, $5 isn’t much but it adds up over time especially if you’re a big Starbucks drinker. You can just reload your app $34 if that makes it easier for you. Don’t forget there is currently a Starbucks Hopscotch game as well.
Hat tip to SD
Confirmed: received the email after doing app reload.
Works if you buy GiftCard in store?
I normally get this offer on one of my cards. 0/9 this time around.
If you drink Starbucks, the best discount you can get is getting the Cash Card through the Cash app. You can get $1 off every Starbucks order. Order a $1.50 coffee…50 cents comes out of your account.
So you swipe your Cash Card at Starbucks when you order? I order from the app a lot – is there a way to link the two?
Yes, you swipe the cash card when you order. The cash boost doesn’t work for in-app reloads. However, it works for in-store starbucks card reloads (minimum of $5)!
But you don’t earn stars by using your rewards card. Besides, most Starbuck drinkers don’t routinely buy 1.50 coffees. 🙂
I buy discounted SB cards and rack up stars, getting free items. If you’re a diehard Starbucks drinker, the loyalty program is the best way to go.
So you can reload $5 to your starbucks card through the cash card in store and still get the $1 boost. That’s a 20% discount while still earning stars.
2 stars per dollar + 2-5% rewards on a regular credit card vs $1 off.. you need to buy an average item price of >$65 for stars + rewards to be better..
This is targeted, so YMMV.
Since when is drip coffee $1.50? Hasn’t been for years. $1.95 or higher at every outlet now.
Regardless, I just ordered a Cash Card.
Received 10% offer ($5 max) on BCE, Gold, and vanilla Plat (not Schwab though).
Mine is 10%
Targeted on Amex Blue Preferred (just showed up this morning)
10% instead of 15% showing in header, which is common percentage you see on chase and BofA offers
I’ll add the 10% offer.
