Amtrak To Allow Reserved Seating For Acela Business Class Customers

Amtrak has announced that starting August 3rd Acela business class customers will be able to reserve a seat with no extra fees. Customers will automatically receive a seat assignment, but then this can be changed on the Amtrak app or website. Amtrak CEO Bill Flynn states “As Amtrak delivers a new standard of travel, reserved seating is one of several new initiatives we are undertaking in support of expanded health and safety protocols,” If this is really a health and safety measure you’d think they would be offering this for all customers, rather than just Acela business customers.

Ya’ll realize that with the exception of first class, *all* seats on Acela are Business Class, right?

Reminds me of how Qatar is only enforcing masks/face shields for economy customers. The coronavirus doesn’t affect business class? Unbelievable.
