Our Verdict
Update: Unlike previous offers this does not have the free companion pass first year.
Previous best offer on this card was 32,500 miles, there was also a 30,000 mile + $100 bonus before. This is now in line with the 40,000 mile bonus being offered on the personal version of this card. Bank of America does not report business cards to your personal credit report, useful for those trying to stay under 5/24. Before applying for this card or asking questions in the comments, I’d recommend you read about these 20 things everybody should know about Bank of America credit cards. I will be adding this to our list of the best credit card bonuses currently available.

Anyone else get a letter reminding them of a “special offer” for this card? Mine says:
“Get a $100 statement credit when you make at least $500 in net purchases within 60 days of your account opening.”
Didn’t see this advertised when I applied for this card (7/23/19). 40k points, companion fare, and $100 statement credit? Nice!
I also received the letter offering a $100 statement credit. I will wait and see if it posts next month.
Update – unfortunately my statement closed a few days ago and there was no $100 statement credit.
Bonus miles have already posted to my Alaska Air account.
Applied for my corporation, and in response got the request for documents… bunch of documents. Articles of the corporation, corporate and personal tax returns for 2 years… May be if I would applied as a sole prop it would be simpler, but for the corporation they requested a ton of stuff.
My thoughts were – I can provide all the docs for the corp, and can not for sole prop, so I will take the longer but guaranteed road. Now will send them a bunch of stuff… thanks god they accept electronic uploads.
Good luck.
My wife wants to apply for this card as a sole proprietor but we currently have a lot of outstanding 0% APR credit card debt (i.e. free loans). Most is on cards for which I’m primary and she’s an authorized user. Credit score has gone down from excellent to good. Should we pay off (a) none of the cards, (b) cards for which she’s primary, or (c) all cards?
From Credit Score (reports) point of view the cards where you are an authorized user (AU) affect your score practically the same way as the ones where you are a primary cardholder. One of the 3 main factors in your score is utilization ratio and it is calculated using all cards reported to your personal report.
With this being said most of the banks do not report business cards to the personal credit reports, and those do not affect your score in any way as an AU or primary (as long as you are not delinquent).
To increase your wife’s score you would have to pay off the debt of all cards appearing on her credit report regardless primary or AU, and wait until the banks update that information with the credit agencies. Usually that happens upon the close of the billing cycle, but with some banks you can call and request to report it mid cycle (if you want to go for that much effort).
My approach in this game has always been – never order for P2 AU cards on personal accounts to keep P2 CR cleaner, always add P2 on biz cards which do not report on personal CR to help with the spend for sign up bonuses. If some relatives need help with their credit score you can add them to your personal cards (only to the ones with high limit an low utilization) and you can use that second card to help with the spend (if needed) as most of the places never ask for an ID.
Good luck.
Thanks a lot!!!

I called and got the offer to open a CD to get the card, and they claim it has to be at least $1,500 for 1 year. Is there a 6 month CD option I should ask for?
How you got the offer? Did you have to say anything?
Sorry for the late response, I’m not sure why, but after applying several times and getting straight up rejections, I applied again in March and received a letter with the offer to open a CD to make it a secured card.
I got the offer to open a CD too. It seemed unclear whether the CD is for opening a secured Alaska Business credit card, or if it is for *a* secured card (that may or may not be the Alaska Business credit card). Did you go through with the offer to open a secured card, and was it the Alaska Business card?
I just applied the business alaska card in the branch. got approved. However, I received a hard pull notice on my TU from credit karma. I thought business card doesnt report on personal report. I live in Los Angeles.
Any help? can I dispute?
You’ll get a hard pull on your personal account but the card won’t show there.
You get a hard pull when you apply for most credit cards, including business cards. It does not mean it will show up in your personal report
is there a reason you applied in branch? I’m 19/24 and I live in LA as well. I wanted to double check if there’s a better shot in branch.
Can you apply and be approved for both biz and personal cards??
Two years ago I did. Since then I haven’t been able to get the personal. I was approved for the biz card.
DP: P2 applied for it on 03/04 and app went pending. She is 22/24, so did not bother with recon. On 03/06 got approved and received congratulation email. Have Boa checking and saving ( <3k in total) for long time, so that may have helped..
Do you have a legit business or sole prop?
Has anyone received an instant approval for the card without any extra information from BoA?
I just applied and went “pending”. Will call recon on Monday. Recon for business cards doesn’t seem to be open on weekends. So 1 answer to your question is: No. They likely need more info. I won’t be surprised if I’m ultimately denied. BofA has really tightened things up in the past year…
P2 did on Business. Went pending for 2 days and then got an automated email approval. Sole Prop.
Me too.
I’m 16/24, 11/12, 4/6, 780 credit scores ish and have been denied three times in the last year and a half for the personal Alaska card, even though I had a checking account with them. What can I do to get this card?
