The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Bank of America is offering up to 67,000 miles and a companion fare on the Alaska Airlines card. Bonus is broken down as follows:
    • 42,000 miles and companion fare after $2,000 in spend within the first three months
    • An additional 25,000 miles after spending a total of $8,000 or more within the first six months

Our Verdict

This is 2,000 miles more than the current best offer for 65,000 miles. There is also a 40,000 miles + $100 offer. This is probably the best offer currently available, although the spend requirement is quite high. We will add this to our list of the best credit card bonuses.

Seems like the link for the 67k offer is expired. Does anyone have an updated one?

Just got a 100,000 mile targeted offer for Alaska elites:

40,000 BONUS MILES
after spending $2,000 or more on purchases within the first 90 days (3 months) of opening your account.
+
60,000 BONUS MILES
after spending $15,000 or more on purchases within the first 270 days (9 months) of opening your account.
That’s enough for a round-trip award ticket (in economy) globally.*

Why do you still include this?

“They will sometimes approve you for a Platinum Plus Visa or Preferred Visa card which has different annual fees and sign up bonus”

That has not been true for over 2 years (maybe 3?) now.

There’s a targeted offer for Alaska status holders for 100k currently. 40k after $2k spend in 3 months, 60k after $15k spend in 9 months. Received on June 10 with subject line was “Name, get this 100,000 bonus mile offer.”

They are also pushing a widespread 50% bonus miles sale for purchased miles. I’m trying not to be a doomsayer but the this combined with a new OW chart in the next few months is a strong indicator of an impending devaluation. I’m being honest and it’s just my opinion though. Also their promised 90 days notice doesn’t mean $hit with little to any Asia travel as that’s where the best value is.
