[Expired] Barclays Business Aviator Bonus Now 60,000 Miles After 1 Purchase [Highest Ever]

Bonus has now been reduced to 50,000 points. Because of that we’ve removed it from the best current credit card bonuses.

  • Read our full review here

Our Verdict

The bonus on this card was always 40k, then they released a 50k offer in April, and now they’ve bumped it up to 60k. We’ve seen recent data points of Barclays matching a bonus if you applied within 30 days, so it’s definitely worth an ask. Hopefully SM will work, else you can try the phone.

Terrific bonus with no spend requirement, and it’s recently become clearer that Barclays business cards do not report to the personal credit bureaus which helps avoid any 5/24 issues from getting this card.

We’ll add this to the best credit card bonuses. As always if you have questions about Barclays credit cards, I’d recommend reading this post first.

damn it… just applied the 50k 2 days ago…

You can try calling them to get them to match.

Problem is 6/24…i applied last month and got denied

frogger
frogger

Me and my wife both got this card in the last month or two and we were much higher than 6/24. I don’t think this card is 6/24.

el_pistolero
el_pistolero

Maybe I got rejected because I applied for personal first and business later the same day

frogger
frogger

If they reject you for too many cards they will send you a letter with that information in it.

el_pistolero
el_pistolero

they rejected me for too many accounts…what i am saying is i should not have applied for personal before applying to business. Applying for personal with too many opened accounts flagged my app

Personal Aviator card? Or a different Barclay card? Wondering if it’s still possible to combine this with a personal card app and get approved for both.

el_pistolero

yes they combine hps

sweet, thanks!

Does it need to be on same day to combine hp?

George
George

They DO NOT combine HPs. Applied for personal Aviator and got denied because of 6/24, despite 780 FICO. Recon rep said that only Ring, Business Aviator, and Uber cards are not subject to 6/24, so I should apply for one of those.

So I applied for Barclay Ring thinking they would combine HPs from reading on here — was tentatively approved. Wanting to get the most out of the HP, I applied for business Aviator and was put in pending; called recon who said denied due to too many inquiries (3 in the same day, all from Barclays). I pointed out that it was all Barclays and that I assumed it would be combined in one HP — the rep transferred me to a manager who proceeded to deny business Aviator card AND went back and changed Ring approval to denial, due to “aggressively seeking credit” with 3 inquiries in a day. So I ended up with no cards.

They would not make exception to the fact that all inquiries were from Barclays — and stated explicity that they never combine HPs for any products. Just checked my TU report and indeed reports three separate pulls.

Screw Barclays. Definitely the most backwards, inane bank (and recon analysts) I’ve ever dealt with.

Does barclay business post to personal credit report?

Once you get the AA miles, are they in your account for good? How long before they expire? I don’t travel all that much so the AA miles aren’t terribly useful for me, but I still wouldn’t mind getting this one. No spend, likely TU pull, doesn’t show up on personal credit report… this offer is just checking so many of the boxes it’s hard to pass up.

Kuso29
Kuso29

Usually if you earn 1 AA mile, it keeps it from expiring, the expiration date increases by every 18 months. It also helps by increasing your chances of further Barclays approval if you put spend on current cards you have with them.

bax
bax

18 months; you could do other activities such as AA Dining or WSJ subscription to earn new miles to extend the expiration of all the miles in your account

Bill
Bill

I charge my E-Z Pass reloads to my no-fee Citi AAdvantage Bronze card. I only get 1 mile per $2 spent but it’s not about the miles but keeping my AA miles current. I generally only have to reload every few months but it’s always within 18 months.

pjm
pjm

easy enough to keep these miles from expiring, use their dining portal and eat out at a participating restaurant once every 18 months, as one example that doesn’t cost you anything except a tiny bit of effort.

I just applied for the personal card last week (my first Barclayscard). Any chance of getting the personal and business so close together? Does using EIN help?

Kuso29
Kuso29

does anyone know where we can SM their CRS? I looked on the portal and there does not seem to be a place to send one, instead they have a message center but no button to send one.

Nevermind, found it under services but before the message center on the upper right.

They won’t match via SM – You must call in. I was told it would go to review to try and match 60k offer. Guess it takes a while for this match to happen

Son

I just applied. Got the “we are reviewing your application”. Is there a Barclay Business card recon number? I already have 4 barclay personal credit cards.

Son
Son

I called the recon#. Asked me about my business, income, etc. Then check how many accounts i have with Barclay. Said they cannot extended anymore than the 36k total CL (Arrival, Arrival, Aviator Red, Hawaiian). Before he can finished talking (I think he was going to offer to move credit around), I said,”you can close my Aviator Red personal card, no point of having 2 Aviator cards”. He said, “sure”. Done. Approved, and moved the CL from my Aviator Red personal to the Business Aviator card.

AC
AC

Do you actually have your own business or did you apply as Sole Proprietor and zero for income? Thanks!

Son
Son

They did not ask for proof. I told them I have a rental property, and sells stuff on Ebay. I know for Chase, they asked me for a copy of my tax return.

Anyone know if credit line can be reallocated from a Barclays business card (like this one) to a personal card?

Chicagoan33

Is Barclays tough with business cards for casual “ebay” businesses? I’ve had good luck with Amex, Citi, and Chase biz cards with no calling in and getting drilled. Thanks.

jg
jg

Nah, I just applied with a casual ebay business, annual revenue of 8k, they gave me 14k approved instantly

Chicagoan33
Chicagoan33

Same here instant approved and they gave me 14k, annual revenue of 5k, funny thing is my personal Aviator and Wyndham have much less CL, I’m also over 6/24. Just got the Amex Hilton Biz on 8/19, too many good bonuses Doc 🙂

chris
chris

Same question. Regarding chase biz cards though, which did you apply for? I thought chase was stringent about biz cards as well recently

Chicagoan33
Chicagoan33

I did Chase Ink Preferred last year for 80k UR with no issues

Dunda
Dunda

As long as you know what to put on the application, the Chase Ink Business Preferred was super easy to get with a low-income ebay business. I assume their others are similar.

frogger

Both my wife and I got approved with very minimal business income. Instant approval for both of us.

JBTx
JBTx

Conflicting DP: Barclays has been a nightmare to deal with on these Biz cards – they have asked for every piece of documentation when I applied; and 7 mos. later when my wife applied for this card it has been even worse. We are both around 1/24 or 2/24; 800+; actual business has been formally incorporated for 10+ years; not to scare anyone but Chase approves us either instantly or asks to move a little credit around. These guys are like the grinch compared to Chase – for us anyway.

Better than the 60500-mile offer since this doesn’t appear on personal CR?

Mr. Emoji

I got a hard pull when I applied this two weeks ago, contrary to what I saw from other DP. I currently have the Arrival+ for just over a year.

BW
BW

Amex is the only bank that *may not* do a hard pull. Everybody else hard pulls for applications. When people say it doesn’t appear on your credit report they’re talking about as an open account.

Vulnox
Vulnox

Do only open accounts count towards 5/24? I was thinking it was applying for credit but I guess that makes more sense.

frogger
frogger

Closed accounts count towards 5/24.

Morgan

+1 I also have this question

JF
JF

Accounts opened in the last 24 months (whether currently open or closed) that appear on your credit report contribute to your X/24 count.

Many business cards do not show up as a new account on your credit report, even though an inquiry will show up on whichever bureau(s) the credit issuer pulled.

Tony
Tony

Synchrony bank driving me crazy. I’m at 4/24 but since i report a lost card, they closed old account, sent me a new card along with creating a new account causing me at 5/24. Chase denied me for CIP state I open 5 card and did not take my word. But it does not the end of the story. They send me new card and transfer current balance but does not zero out the old one. They report me late after a couple months see no payment on the closed account. It took me over a half year go back and forth with them and credit bureaus but only the late mark was removed, not the redundant account that they’re giving me for free. I won’t go any card issued by Synchrony bank, no matter what being offered by them.

George
George

+1 Tony had the same exoerience with Synchrony lost card. Total mess in terms of credit report. Barclays is just as bad/incompetent though.

Krista check my posts
Krista check my posts

This is actually an interesting data point! Does the new card show the correct full age for the account?

1. If they show it as a brand new account then they are really wrecking your credit history!

2. If both accounts show the full age, this could be a potential way to increase your age of credit for anyone with an old Synchrony card. (I.e. Go from having a single 20 year old account to having 2 of them.)

Got the same message when i applied as well. Called them instead and they grill you for information. Do not be hesitant about what you are going to say, they catch on to that. Got approved within 2 days after the call, an email was sent to me.

Which number did you call?

Just applied and was instantly approved for $12k credit line. I have one Barclay card (Personal Aviator) opened 11/17 w/ $12k credit line. Total spend is <$500. Personal income is low 6 figures. Listed $1,000 as biz income as Sole Proprietorship. Only 1 TU inquiry in last two months, 2 in last 12 months.

chris

how much do we need to spend to avoid being blackballed by Barclays for future credit card applications? I’m guessing one-two purchases a month won’t be enough?

Drew Whitford

I would like to see some data on this as well. I just approved for the citi 70k biz card (to plastiq my mortgage) yesterday. My TU is clean with only 2 inq over 24 mo, so this is tempting.

frogger
frogger

Me and my wife got the personal Barclay Aviators a year ago made one purchase for around 5 dollars. Never used the card and were both approved for the Business version in the last couple of months. So I wouldn’t bother putting spend on it.

Dang, I just applied for this card exactly one month ago. Tried to get the new offer matched twice via phone but no luck. Will try SM, but not optimistic.

They only match if within 30 days.

BW, Dave, What number are you guys calling to match the offer?

Dave
Dave

I applied exactly 31 days ago, what luck. I tried calling the # on the back of the card, 855-284-9166.

Jake
Jake

Dave, did they approve your match while you were on the phone? My wife and I both called today (mind you, this is the BUSINESS aviator card), and the rep said she can’t post points but she submitted the request for review and the only way we’ll know if we get it is to wait 4-6 weeks for them to post, if they’re approved.

This was also after I sent a message via the “service request” form because there is no “send message” form.

The rep also said you can’t set it up for autopay on the phone, and you can’t do it yourself online. You have to send a “service request” with your bank account info in it and tell them specifically what day you want autopay to pull and what routing number and account number.

What a bunch of BS. Did I get a misinformed rep, or is this how Barclays BIZ works? This is even worse than Barclays personal cc management workflows.

Tim
Tim

If I applied for the personal version of this card last year, I could still get the bonus on the business correct? Barclays does not have restrictions like Citi, right?

Most DP suggests that Barclays are churnable.
