Our Verdict

This card just returned in March with a 70k bonus after being pulled for some changes. This is an excellent offer with a nice low $2,000 spend requirement and with the $95 statement credit which basically offsets the annual fee.

We’ll add this to our list of Best Current Credit Card Signup Bonuses. Check out these Things To Know About Barclay’s Credit Cards before applying. There are similar bonuses on the Hawaiian business card, Aviator business card, and JetBlue business card.

William Charles annual fee is coming up. Any ideas on how to go about it? What’s recommended – cancel or product change?

Was in a crunch for AA miles, so went for the 70k offer.

Applied & Approved: 4/11/23
MSR: 4-26-23
First statement: 5/5/23
60k Miles posted to AA account: On 5/5/23 but did not officially check account until 5/7/23 (AA site says 5-5-23)

10k employee bonus has not posted since made first purchase on 5/6/23

Yes, I did them both in December 2019. I believe the issue was for people who also got a 3rd AA bonus in the same timeframe in addition to doing those 2.

I did both Barclay’s aviator business and personal on the same month. Received 140K miles just few weeks after meeting spend requirement.

This is not a problem.

Citi and Barclay are independent banks, and the bonuses on their cards are independent. As a matter of fact you can get all 4 of them at the same time: Citi Personal, Citi Business, Barclay Personal and Barclay Business. You can also get bonuses on multiple Barclay AA business cards if you have multiple businesses (multiple EINs, or SSN+EIN), and you manage to get approved (which could be tricky with Barclay, but could be done with good credit score, credit re-allocation, persistency and lots of patience).

Note: With Citi – only 1 bonus for biz card per AA loyalty account, even if you have multiple businesses with different EINs. 1 every 48 months now… same for Citi AA personal.

Good luck.

My personal data points:
10/27 – Approved for card
11/1 – Finished the 2K spending
11/21 – Statement closed. Received only the $95 statement credit. Dont see the 80K SUB anywhere
12/9 – Started seeing the 80K SUB in the Barclays app but not in my AAdvantage account
12/21 – 2nd statement closed. 80K auto emptied out from Barclays but nothing in AA
12/23 – Finally see the 80K deposited into AA account

Thanks for this timeline. My statement having met the spend just closed. I also received the $95 statement credit immediately. Good to know the 80k miles should post about a month later.

Yes, my P1-P4 all applied in October through November and have all received the 80k miles.

The $95 SC and annual fee processed at first month’s end, then the 80k miles credited when the statement is cut.

I noticed the 80k miles show up in the mobile app a ~week after meeting the minimum spend. I don’t see this on the website anywhere, except to wait until the statement is generated.

I’m in a similar situation. It’s been two statements and I’m not seeing the SUB. I sent an SM and asked about it. They said “…This one-time offer is valid for new accounts only. Existing accounts and previous cardmembers with accounts closed in the past 24 months may not be eligible for this offer.”

I had close an Aviator biz card 3.5 years ago so I thought I was fine. However, I had never seen that “one-time offer language”. They also said the SUB could take 4-6 weeks to post and yet it’s been 9 weeks.

Ugh. I’m in a similar situation (second-time cardholder, with an account closed >24 months ago). Have you tried calling? What, if anything, do you plan to do next? Also: Did you not receive /either/ the statement credit /or/ the points? And: When were you charged the $99 fee?

I actually just got the SUB yesterday, so I guess it’s just very delayed. The SU offer I applied to did not offer a statement credit. I was charged the AF on my first statement.
