Barclays & Wyndham have reached a new long term agreement that will see Barclays continue to issue the Barclay Wyndham cards. Barclays has been the issuer of Wyndham cards since 2010. It’s unclear how long this new agreement is for.

Last time I called the Wyndham Diamond customer service line they asked how I got status and wouldn’t help me when I said through the card and happily let their property owner steal my points. Was on the fence because of the Caesar’s thing, but done after that.

Too bad wydham lost caesars
yeah so sad about that. was hoping they would change their minds.
What do you mean by “lost”?
Wyndham still has a relationship with Caesars, allowing status matches, earn and redeem points, and points transfers, it’s just that the some of these policies are bit more limited now.
But the limits sound more like a “devaluation” than a “loss”, unless you’re referring to something you yourself used to do regarding this pairing that because of you can’t do any more.
But if so, that’s not understandable to people who only used Caesars, for example, for extending Wyndham expiration beyond “hard” 4 years, by transferring points back and forth.
Barclays is low key one of the best CC issuers. Always has great, user friendly offers. The Wyndham cards have sent me around the world.
let’s get that 100k points offer back now…
Hopefully they can find some new travel industry partners after losing AA & Hawaiian.
Wait, when did Barclays lose Hawaiian?
It will likely go away / be sold off once Alaska merges reward programs, since Alaska partners with BoA for their cards.
That makes no sense, Barclays is just now losing their US Air credit card, likely have a lot of time left with them.
It’s speculative. But since Alaska is keeping the Hawaiian Air name and branding it’s possible, they’d keep the separate credit card alive.
Unlikely, BofA has already announced that they will be getting that portfolio. And the programs will merge in 2025 leaving only one Mileage Plan (Alaska). So I am sure Hawiian cards will be converted to BofA Alaksa cards. Make sure you get Hawaiian now while you can, and if you do not want it to convert to Alaska (because you may want to get Alaska bonus independently) cancel it before it converts.
“I know you have a huge crush on Chase and I’m still not over that one time I hooked up with a legacy airline, but if we are still both single in 10 years, how about we just get married?”
Too bad they didn’t hold on to AA
Yeah, I’ll also miss paying just $99 and making a single $1 purchase in exchange for 70,000 American Airlines points, then closing the card after 12 months. Rinse and repeat.
Hey quick question, I recently signed up for Barclays AA too. I wanted to ask: should I close the card BEFORE the second annual fee posts? Or does Barclays also allow me to close the card within 30 days AFTER the second annual fee posts? thanks!
hey quick question, I also signed up for the BarclaysAA card. To avoid the second annual fee, do I need to close the card before it posts? Or does Barclays also allow closing within 30 days after it posts? thanks!
Close it after the annual fee posts, then they will refund you the annual fee if it has been charged to your card after you pay off your balance. Most cards will allow it within 30 days.
And Barcaly allows you more than 30 days. I think it is 45 from the day AF posted. It is generally a bad idea to close in less than 12 months. Not all banks like Amex would hunt you down, but to avoid being framed for gaming the system always wait for AF to post before closing (or downgrading).
There was nothing really to hold on to. The old deal was with U.S. Air and they didn’t have a chance with Citi being the legacy card of AA.
