Nice. Just left Mint (temporarily) for Hello Mobile to save a few bucks, fully intent on going back once this Hello deal ran out in two months. Now about to save $30 more on something I was planning on doing anyway.

I have Verizon. Pay an arm and a leg for it. Is mint just as good?

Matt total wireless uses Verizon towers for a fraction of the price.

If t-mobile is good in your area Mint should be also, they use T-mobile towers.

Just an FYI some people have reported difficulties trying to activate Mint sims longer than 45 days after purchase. It is usually a problem when you purchase directly from Mint, but some say activation fails when you buy from Best Buy and it has been longer than 45 days after purchase.

For anyone wondering about Mint service, I love it living in SF Bay Area. Always good signal and fast data speeds, price is one the best

Eh, all these budget players are just using the big boys networks, in this case T-mobile. So no surprise T-mobile has good coverage in SF area. By the way, T-mobile prepaid is probably even less expensive than Mint.

What do you mean “probably”? There’s no element of chance. Mint is cheaper.

Actually checked – right now T-mobile IS cheaper, if you do not need that much data. 2.5 GB for $15 vs $20 for 5 GB with Mint, and it comes with the added bonus of not having to go through this Simple/Mint/Boost mumbo-jumbo.

Agreed. I’ve been on the $15 T-Mobile plan since my free Sprint ended. Works great. As long as I only use refill cards, it’s a straight $15/mo.

Spend $20 to port your primary number to google voice and you are always a new customer and always have numbers for porting deals. Saves our family of four big $$.

Google Voice is flagged by many providers as VOIP and cannot be used for 2-FA in many situations. So there are many deficiencies with this strategy.
