Update 8/12/23: Deal is back
The Offer
Direct link to offer (our affiliate link)
- Best Buy is offering a bonus $10 Best Buy gift card when you purchase a $100 Apple e-gift card or physical gift card.
The Fine Print
- Limit 1
Our Verdict
We don’t see as many discounts on Apple/iTunes gift cards since they changed them to be usable on Apple products as well. It might be possible to do this deal multiple times by checking out 1 gift card per transaction.
Post history:
- Update 7/17/23: Deal is back and valid 7/17 – 7/23
- Update 6/12/23: Deal is back and valid 6/12 – 6/18
- Update 1/2/23: Available again.
- Update 3/14/22: Available again, not as good as Black Friday when it was $15 bonus gift card.
- Update 7/23/21: Deal is back, limit 1.
- Update 9/7/20: Limits not enforced. Hat tip to GC Galore
- Update 9/5/20: Limit is actually 2 physical and 2 digital. You need to do a separate transaction for each though.
Seems to have expired
Normally I get the $10 GC like within an hour after the order. This time it’s been 4 hours and still no $10 GC :/
Finally got it 4.5 days later
I got it like a week later lol
2 item max, even after different orders.
I wish there were any Best Buy offers on my credit card that can go with this deal…
dead again

Perfect, can combine this with my Chase offer for 20% off at Best Buy
Yea I did this. 2 weeks back.
can i use bestbuy giftcard to buy that?
— No after try
My CSR has best buy 10% max $20 but not sure if it works on gift cards.
It should work other than Best Buy e-gift cards (since those go through CashStar). All third party gift cards should trigger Best Buy purchase if it’s going through the normal Best Buy checkout and not the CashStar checkout.
Great timing on this deal, I got the same offer on my Freedom and was thinking of buying a GC yesterday.
I’m waiting patiently. Did this deal on 8/12. Transaction posted 8/14. Still no 10% back from Chase offer. I’ll give them the full stated 14 business days from 8/14 before messaging.
Is it really worth it buying just one? I wanted to buy a Macbook for $1800 and this saves me $10 🙂 I went on and purchased gift cards at cardcookie.com with 10% to 13% discount which is better than Target or Bestbuy $10 back deals
Change that to $15 if you have a Discover it card and use it through PayPal to pay for it with the 5% quarterly cash back. I’m already maxed out on apple gift cards so I’ve not tried it. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work though.
It depends. Sometimes you can find them from authorized third-party sellers for a decent discount. For example the 14″ MacBook Pro is currently on sale for $1599 at B&H Photo instead of $1999. Very rare to see Apple products discounted for this much though. You might also be able to combine education pricing with the gift cards for a decent deal though.
