Bilt is Revamping Credit Card Benefits for 2027 (Discontinuing 4% Bilt Cash for New Applicants & More)

Bilt announced today numerous changes to their credit card reward program for 2027. Back in January 2026, they launched Bilt 2.0 and now they are making changes.

Press Release

4% Bilt Cash Eliminated

The headliner is that the 4% Bilt Cash option will be eliminated for new cardholders:

A few days after the launch of Bilt 2.0 which offers 4% Bilt Cash, they released a second option for those who want a simpler rewards structure called Housing-Only Rewards. That option earns up to 1.25x on your rent and mortgage payments instead of earning 4% Bilt Cash. New cardholders in 2027 and beyond will only have the Housing rewards option and won’t have the option to earn 4% Bilt Cash.

  • Starting in 2027, the 4% Bilt Cash rewards option will be going away.
  • Existing Bilt cardholders can opt to keep their existing Flexible Bilt Cash rewards option and they’ll continue to earn rewards in that way. You must manually opt to remain in the Flexible Bilt Cash rewards option by December 31, 2026. In the app, go to Manage card > Bonus rewards > Moving to > Flexible Bilt Cash.
  • New cardholders who get approved in January 2027 and beyond will not have the Flexible Bilt Cash rewards option. They’ll automatically get the Housing-Only Rewards option.

Bilt Cash Expiration Change

Effective immediately, Bilt Cash will be valid for a rolling 12 months. For example Bilt Cash which was earned in February 2026 will expire at the end of February 2027.

Bilt Cash will remain a thing even for new users. It just won’t be earned in volume with the 4% Bilt Cash rewards.

Hotel Credits —> Bilt Cash

The Bilt Palladium card comes with $400 in hotel credits each year and the Obsidian comes with $100 in hotel credits each year. These will be discontinued. Instead, the Obsidian card will get $100 in Bilt Cash. The Palladium card already gets $200 in Bilt Cash annually, so starting in 2027 they’ll get $600 in Bilt Cash ($200 + $400).

Existing users who opt to keep the 4% Flexible Bilt Cash option will keep the old hotel credit structure benefits. New cardholders (and existing cardholders who change over to the new Housing-Only Rewards structure) will get the Bilt Cash credit instead of the hotel credit.

Bilt Cash Hotel Redemption Limitation

Another big change is that using Bilt Cash to redeem for a hotel stay will be limited to just twice per year (instead of once per month). There will also be a dollar max: for Blue/Silver it will be $50 twice annually ($100 total); for Gold/Platinum it will be $100 twice annually ($200 total); and for Palladium it will be $200 twice annually ($400 total).

The 2-night minimum to be able to redeem Bilt Cash will remain the same.

Other Changes

Some other changes:

  • Bilt is launching a Daily Rewards program on January 15, 2027. The program will give Bilt Points, Bilt Cash, and chances at major prizes for certain activities.
  • Gold and Platinum members will be able to redeem Bilt Points toward Home Away From Home hotel bookings.
  • Platinum members will receive Hertz President’s Circle and SIXT ONE Platinum status matches.
  • Gold and Silver members will receive Hertz Five Star and SIXT ONE Gold status matches.
  • Cardholders can now upgrade their Bilt cards through the app.
  • Housing-Only Rewards users will get access to the Bilt Cash Points Accelerator.
