Our Verdict

This deal comes around numerous times throughout the year and is always popular, just remember the $15 cards have only a few-week window of use. The fact that you can buy third-party gift cards in-store at Best Buy with these promo cards makes it easier to use.

Last time around I learned that when doing this deal on Cashstar you can choose your denomination with this deal. For example, you can buy a single $450 Best Buy e-gift card and get three $15 promo cards (system shows it clearly at checkout).

There aren’t any portals for Cash. Use INK Preferred for 3x. Input your Best Buy Rewards number on Cashstar at checkout to get those rewards.

Hotels.com Deal

There’s also another deal on Cashstar to get a free $10 Hotels.com e-gift when you purchase a $50 Hotels.com e-gift. Limit 1.

Tried to use these promo codes to buy a Cricket prepaid card last time and order went through but was declined by the system 10 min later (unable to verify). Tried 3x. Ended up converting in store to BBY GC but having to go in store isn’t as nice as converting online. Still a good deal with 3x UR and BBY Rewards.

Just to be ridiculously, dumb-dumb clear: you can use the $150 cards to buy gift cards in-store? I was kinda thrown when you only called the $15 one a “promo code” and later said you can use the “promo cards” to buy third-party gc. Wasn’t sure if that included the original $150 card or just the $15 extra?

And follow-up, there’s no problem using these in-store to buy third-party even if they’re e-gift/paper cards (not physical)?

From your other link. 😛

“Q: Can e-gift cards be used in-store?
A: Yes, you can print it out and use it in-store.”

Purchase codes as BBY or Cashstar?
Would this trigger Discover 5x or Cash+ 5x?

What about buying in store using Chase Pay for 10x? Should it stack?

Probably not because it’s Cashstar.

Just got the $15 promo codes. Not valid for “prepaid open loop cards and some third party gift cards.” I’ve never seen open loop cards (e.g. Visa and MC) at any local Best Buy, but I’m sure hoping my favorite third party gift cards work.
