Capital One Dining To Close Down

Capital One has announced that its dining reservations platform will be closing down. Capital One exclusive dining experiences will continue to be bookable through Capital One Entertainment:

Update about Capital One Dining Beginning Sept 29, 2026 11:59PM ET, cardholders will no longer be able to book reservations. Reservations taking place after this date will still be valid and viewable through December 31, 2026. Our cardholder exclusive dining experiences will be available on Capital One Entertainment, where eligible cardholders will earn elevated rewards and can redeem rewards for tickets.

Credit card companies have been aggressively targeting this segment with American Express acquiring The Fork for $700 million, Resy for $200 million and Tock for $400 million. Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders get a $300 Exclusive Tables credit via a partnership with OpenTable and American Express Platinum cardholders get a $400 Resy credit.

I suspect Capital One decided they couldn’t compete in this sector. I don’t think they ever really marketed this well and did have some good availability at popular spots that were otherwise sold out.
