Our Verdict
This is an extra 5% on top of the already discounted listed prices. Sometimes before these sales occur the prices seem to increase. Some readers have had issues with CardCash, support and guarantee are only for 45 days so make sure to use any cards purchased ASAP.
Are there any referral codes or discounts for first-time customers or signing up that people can get credit for if I make a first-time purchase from them?
I just got a 1013 dollar hotels.com gift card for 894 after the promo code. That seems pretty solid in my book.
CardCash is comparable to raise and I’ve never had problems with any of my gift cards with them.
In the past, I have purchased gift cards from RAISE and CARDPOOL, but with CARDPOOL closing I’ve been using RAISE so how does CardCash compare? I’ve never purchased from them before. Any thoughts, issues, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
luvsdeals I use them from time to time. Main issue is the 45-day guarantee, so use right away or swap in-store for a card with a different number. Other than that, no issues — had problem cards a couple of times, but customer service resolved the matter quickly.
What do you mean by swap in-store for a card with a different number?
luvsdeals In my experience, if you go to a store and say something like the following: “I just bought this gift card from CardCash, but it only has a 45-day guarantee. Can I please use it to buy a new store gift card in the same amount so that the original seller can’t defraud me once the 45 days are up?” — the customer service people will often let you buy a new store gift card with the one you bought on CardCash. YMMV, of course, as some POS systems are hard-coded against this, and some stores have policies against this, but I have done this many times with cards I bought on CardCash at a variety of stores. This way you don’t have to worry about the 45-day guarantee, as you now have a brand-new card, not a used one.
This isn’t as true as it used to be, and that’s actually good for all of us as fraud losses drive up prices for consumers.
Many, many merchants have begun using technology that lets them follow the money to the new card with extreme ease… Starbucks and Target were some of the first and Starbucks is particularly unforgiving about that stuff.
All the cards I’d want are mysteriously out of stock.
Got to follow Doc and other gift card gurus on Twitter. Got the notice this morning, and I loaded up. Only two that I wanted that were sold out were eBay and Walmart.
Na no way they were all purchased.
Who are some gift card gurus that you use? I only know of Raise and Card Cash that are legitimate.
