Our Verdict
Some nice offers here. This offer will probably work for anyone – try out the link and see if it allows you to enroll. (The links sometimes aren’t fully live initially, and it might not be live yet.)

There seems to be an issue in getting these bonus points posted to one’s Marriott account for Chase The Ritz Carlton Card $1,500 – 5X spend offer (and other Chase Marriott co-brand credit cards too per users on FlyerTalk). Though the bonus points showed in my monthly statement, they never posted to Marriott (though the other points in the statement have already been posted to the Marriott account).

Didn’t work for me after multiple tries and browsers. Worse I got a lot of nonsensical messages including “Please correct highlighted fields.” when no fields were highlighted.

Yes, I have received this message multiple times and on different cards since April 1. In my case, it might be related to trying too many times; the associated URL is “https://www.chase.com/mybonus/fivetimesretry” I got the standard not targeted message when trying again in a different browser (google chrome incognito).

Got 5x points on up to $1500 spend, no category limitations, on Marriott Boundless. In essence its a 3x points bonus on top of the 2x points base. Of note, Marriott hotel spend remainder 6x points (i.e., not 6x+5x or 6x+3x incremental add).
Got it on AARP for Q1, maxed it, and got it again today for Q2. I put 0 spend on that card.

I had the prior offer on my IHG which expired 3/31 (5x on grocery), so it showed nothing until today. Today what it gave me was 5000 points if I spend $3000 by June 30. Not really worth it, since it earns so poorly

HI ALL – i have a united explorer card which i opened last year in march 2020. I was charged the fee March 1 and statement closed March 16. I was told if i cancel within 41 days of statement close in which the fee was charged i would be refunded the whole fee back. i.e i have till april 25 to downgrade the card and get the full fee refund Is this accurate information based on chase policies ?? I dont want to be burned by Chase customer service . Also Is there a way to get the fee refunded as a retention offer how do i got about trying that for this card ?
Next if do the offer before april 25 for 1500$ will i still get awarded the 5x miles if i downgrade the card before april 25 (product change as they call it ) ? Looking for long term experts who have played the miles game for a while and are expert in getting bonuses with chase cards
Re: your 2nd paragraph, a recent data point: I had the United Explorer card. For Q1 I went through the above Mybonus registration and got 5x at grocery, gas and drug stores. Then downgraded to the no fee Gateway card in mid January. The promo continued with the product change (I have been getting 5x). When I was on the phone downgrading I asked the agent if the promo still applied, she looked and said it would.
You can always try calling and asking for a retention offer. I did not get one and did not see a lot of recent data points online of people saying they got one.
I still got the offer for 4/1 – 6/30 after downgrading from the MPE to the MPG in March. The subtitle says “You’ll earn 5 total miles for every $1 you spend on up to $1,500 on purchases from April 1 through June 30, 2021, with your United MileagePlus® Credit Card.*,” for which MPG should qualify. However in the T&C it does specify “This bonus offer is non-transferable. Eligible credit cards: UnitedSM Explorer Card.” So I’m not sure it will work, although it doesn’t hurt to try if MS is not hard for you. I myself will try anyways.

I think it only works on co-branded cards. Not cards that earn Ultimate Rewards.

Same here for my Marriott card. Was able to enroll in 5X up to $1,500 today. If you value Marriott at 0.6-0.7 CPP then it’s a 3-3.5% return, which is pretty good for general spend.
I had the offer from Q4 and Q1 on my United Explorer, but notably I couldn’t register on my Explorer until after Q1 started (don’t remember if was Jan 1 or a few days after that I tried).
I couldn’t register for Q2 in the last couple weeks, and just tried and none of the united nor catch-all links work. I’ll try again in a few days but maybe this is the end of the road for me

If you have the Chase Ink Bold, I’m not sure what the big deal is. You can earn 5X on a variety of categories and can easily transfer points into most of these programs. If you don’t have it, then I can understand.

I’ll probably max out the Hyatt offer first since I value Hyatt points more than United miles. It’s also appealing the Hyatt offer is for all spend unlike the United grocery/gas/drugstore offer.

Not a single one of these promotions has worked for this card over the past year, including one written misrepresentation by a Chase rep….. Same here. Will keep trying periodically till it works. As long as you register prior to the end date, all purchases starting April 1st should apply to the promo. In the past, it has taken 4-6 weeks after promo started to be able to activate offer.
Try clearing your history/cache. This solved the problem for me.

This worked on my Hyatt. Nice 7,500 bonus Hyatt points.
Well, 5 total bonus points, so 4 extra per $ on up to $1500 spend. So 6K more than you would normally get. Still a nice bonus, especially for me since I was going to use it anyways this quarter for the qualifying nights & free night cert.
It didn’t work for my Chase United Mileage Plus.
Nothing for me… says “Correct highlighted field” when nothing is highlighted, or that this promotion is not available to me.
Yeah, might not yet be live for enrollment, as noted in the post. Hopefully it’ll work at some point in the coming days.
