[Expired] Chase Marriott Premier Plus Now Live – 100,000 Point Bonus – Ends July 12th?

This deal has expired and is no longer available. View the best current credit card bonuses by clicking here.

Update: This 100,000 bonus was always marked as a ‘limited time offer’. It looks like it will expire on July 2nd according to advertisement seen by US Credit Card Guide. Marriott site says July 12th… Also keep in mind this possible rumor.

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • The new Chase Marriott Premier Plus is now live, the launch bonus is 100,000 points after $5,000 in spend

Card Details

  • The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of the Marriott Rewards Premier or Marriott Rewards Premier Plus credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of the Marriott Rewards Premier or Marriott Rewards Premier Plus credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 24 months
  • $95 annual fee
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • Six Marriott rewards points per dollar spent at participating hotels
    • Two points per dollar spent on all other purchases
  • Anniversary free night certificate for any property up to 35,000 points
  • Silver status, upgraded to gold elite status when you spend $35,000 in purchases each year
  • Coming in 2019: Receive 15 nights towards elite status (you can only receive this once regardless of how many Marriott/SPG cards you have)

Our Verdict

We just posted an hour ago that this would be going live tomorrow, looks like it went live early. I’d be shocked if the 5/24 rule doesn’t apply to this card, as it did apply to the previous Premier version. You’ll notice that you’re not eligible if you currently hold the Marriott Premier card, current holders will be offered an upgrade offer here but that doesn’t currently seem to be live. It’s possible you might be able to apply for both cards today and get approved for both, but I suspect that won’t work (at least it shouldn’t according to the fine print).

We’ve seen 100,000 point bonuses on the Marriott Premier, so this isn’t a mind blowing deal by any means but could still be very useful to some readers.

Do you get 15 night credit this year with this card or is that only for next year?

Don’t have a Marriott card but would be more inclined to open it if I get 15 nights towards 50 for platinum

I’m on the same boat. Can anyone confirm that you didn’t get any elite night credits when you got the card. Thanks.

100,000 Marriott Points same as 33,333 SPG.

I wonder if most would value this > personal SPG @ 25/30K then.

The Value Traveler

so could be useful as SPG once the two programs merge

Hopefully thats the plan since they nerfed the value of the SPG personal

anyone tried under 5/24?

I’m 7/24 and applied to see what happens. The message I got said, “We have received your request for a Chase credit card. We’ll let you know our decision by U.S. mail. This could take up to 30 days.”

I have four Chase cards in good standing and a solid credit score/report, so I think the only reason I would not be approved is the 5/24 rule. That is just my subjective opinion though. 🙂

The upgrade site is interesting. It asks for your info and seems like it would lead directly to the “upgrade”, but no offer is given . Reading through the FAQ at the bottom seems to support the immediate request for upgrade. I’d be interested in seeing what happens when someone jumps on the upgrade

Any news on upgrade offer?

WTF….I applied…it went to pending. All my accounts (CSR, Hyatt, Ritz) got shut down an hour later.

3/24
6-fig income
8-yr relationship with Chase (checking, saving and mortgage)
All legitimate business and travel spend
Never MS!

Admin warning: This is almost certainly a troll comment. I wouldn’t pay any attention to it, it doesn’t follow the Chase shut down pattern at all.

Chase is so weird….

That’s terrible. Chase is becoming so paranoid…

Ugh. What’s changed since you last Chase application? Score? Number of hard pulls? Utilization?

I definitely wouldn’t put it past Chase, but I agree timing is Fishy.

I agree that this screams ‘troll’. First thing that came to mind.

I wouldn’t think the department/team that does the shutdowns would be working in the evening.

Funny how you can still apply for the old Marriott premier card.

Can you apply for this now, transfer your points to SPG then do the 20,000 points transfer to airline to get the 25,000 miles? So if you already have 6667 SPG points already, would that be a useful and easy way to convert to 50,000 miles on one of the qualified airlines?

Yes

To me it looks like a big change from the old card. Annual free night category 1-5 changes to 1-7
Its a big difference. Am i missing something?

Hard to tell until they release all the new hotel categories. We’ve only gotten a sneak peak, but people are dreading that a lot of hotels are going to be moved up higher in categories, so the increase from cat 5 to 7 max might ultimately be trivial. Too early to tell.

Homer

Can you link these cards to another person’s Marriott acct or does name on card have to roughly match name on Marriott Rewards acct? I’m 6/24 with Marriott acct, my SO is under 5/24 but no Marriott rewards acct.

Worth transferring 110k Marriot points to AA for +25% bonus?

So in comparison, this offer can provide slightly higher value than the 75K (Fee waived) offer if you value the points much. (Some sample values rage from.4 to .9 cent) Yet, If I was signing up today, I would likely still select the 75K offer, since I prefer to minimize my overall cost in real dollars.

Being at 4/24 I plan to apply for a business card next and see what offers are available here in a few months.

Pat S

If you upgrade now may get the free night for 35k, but maybe you can call and ask. Would be interesting if it doesn’t reset the anniversary date
