Chase Offers: Get 20% Off Quill.com, Up To $50 Back

Update 3/4/23: New offer showing up for peopel again.

Update 2/20/23: Deal is back at 20% this time, up to $50 back. (ht becauseimnew) Looks like this time they added exclusions:  “Offer excludes HP, Epson, and Samsung products, gift cards and streaming devices”, so I don’t know if gift cards will still work.

The Offer

  • There’s a Chase Offer for 10% back on all of your Quill.com purchases, up to $25 statement credit.

The Fine Print

  • Expires 11/25/21
  • Payment must be made directly with the merchant

Our Verdict

Quill.com sells office supplies, but also sells $200 and $300 Visa gift cards. The $300 card has a $9 fee, and should be an easy moneymaker. Try going through a shopping portal as well and see if it sticks.

Could be worth it for some, especially if you find the offer a card with an office supply multiplier. I’d guess the offer is more likely to show on business cards (?). Let us know if you see it at any other bank, such as Bank Amerideals.

Update History:

  • Update 12/10/22: Deal is back until 1/23. Maybe only 5% back this time. Hat tip to Gerald
  • Update 12/2/22: Extended until December 8, 2022.
  • Update 10/17/22: Deal is back and valid until 11/30. Hat tip to Gerald
  • Update 9/5/22: Back until 10/15. 20% back for some.
  • Update 7/21/22: Deal is back this time it’s 10% cash back, max $250 spend. Expires 8/31/22. Update: Readers note that they’ve now added terms excluding gift cards.
  • Update 6/5/22: Deal is back, some are seeing it for 5% and 10% as well. Only up to $300 in purchases this time. Valid through 7/13/22. Hat tip to FM
  • Update 3/21/22: Deal is back for 10% back on up to $300 in purchases. Valid through 4/25/22. (ht FM)

CIC1 placed order for 1x VGC for 308.99, charge didn’t post on the account until 4/4, offer posted on 4/10
Placed 3 more orders for 3 different cards on 4/3, charge didn’t post until 4/7 (saw pending on 4/4 but disappeared). Quill offer ended on 4/6, so I will have to send SM for each card to hope they would honor it with my screenshot showing the order and ship date from Quill.

Quill doesn’t charge until it ships and VGCs take a bit to ship. The offer specifically excludes gift cards so sending the order screenshot may not work because of that.

According to tracking and order status, all 3 separate order of single 300 vgc were shipped on 4/4, but yeah definitely my fault for waiting til last minute regardless if its within norm for Quill/Chase to take longer for the charge to post. I’ve sent in selective screenshot from order status page where it shows the order date, ship date, delivery date, and payment’s last 4 without showing the 300 vgc. So far the 2 that I’ve submitted via SM has been approved and credited to my account. Waiting a bit to do the last account to reduce suspicion.

Do you purchase other things w your gc to mask that it’s gc? I tried to do that and they ratted me out by charging the non-gc items separately. 🤣 I vaguely remember this happening w Staples or OD. Is that normal?

vc If there was a good 1¢ deal, I did but it always separated it out because the items would ship first and the gc several days later.

I know it’s always a risk buying gcs when it’s specifically included but it usually is low risk. Haven’t had a Quill offer since last April so they may have started knowing more.

Thanks for reminding me about their ‘delay shipment’ feature! Going to see if that works.

VGCs are “Business customer exclusive”?

Looks like you can only buy 3 $300 VGCs in a lifetime. Had to buy $200s.

I was able to purchase one the other day. Have had three in the past. Maybe they didn’t count the one in 2021?

I also picked up a couple $1 items and they showed up yesterday with boxes of pens, presumably as a way to prevent movement in the box with a liquid item. Expensive shipping material but the school will appreciate the donation. 🙂

I love this line: High-Demand Limit: You can purchase 3 through 12/30/2050. Additional quantities can be purchased after this date. So basically 3 lifetime?

Anyone have success stacking this through a portal and having it payout? All the portals I use (Cap 1, Rakutan, Navy Fed, Ibotta) say that GC purchase won’t trigger the portal rebates.

I can’t confirm a payout yet, but a week after placing the order, reward is pending in the Cap1 app.

Is anybody else having trouble adding a $300 vgc to the cart?

I couldn’t add to the cart since i purchased last time on jan 31, 2023. The message says the limit is $2000 or within 2 weeks, which i wasn’t exceed any of them. Makes no sense. I meant to contact them but just hadn’t had time.

Can confirm it still triggered with a $300 visa gift card, even though the fine print excludes gift cards. Thanks Chase.

I placed an order a couple of days ago, and now it’s not in my quill history. Is that normal? It’s not shipped or cancelled, but just missing.

I’ll reply to myself. The order re-appeared a couple of days later, and now shipped. This is my first order with Quill.

Got the offer, ordered and received the card. The offer didn’t trigger.

With Chase, it takes awhile. With the Quill offer, for me it averages to getting the credit within a week of getting the actual card. They’re not quick by any means.

It is a process with Chase. First the offer disappears from the “All’ and “Added” tabs under Offers. This could be for a couple of days. Then it reappears under the “Redeemed” tab, although it isn’t credited to your account. In a few more days you will then see the credit.
