Update 11/7/20: Reminder that this is due to end tomorrow. Consider using a readers referral link if you’re going to sign up.
Direct link to offer (if the offer doesn’t show for you try a different device or just wait a few hours and it should show)
- Signup for the Chase Sapphire Preferred and get 80,000 points after $4,000 in spend within the first three months.
- $95 annual fee (not waived first year)
- No foreign transaction fees
- Primary car rental insurance
- This card earns at the following rates:
- 2x points per $1 spent on travel and dining at restaurants
- 1x points per $1 spent on all other purchases
- Transferable points
- Redeem points on Chase’s travel portal at a value of 1.25¢ due to the 25% travel redemption bonus
- Not eligible if you’ve received a sign up bonus on the Sapphire Preferred/Reserve in the last 48 months (standard is now 48 months)
- Chase 5/24 rule applies to this card
Previously this was a targeted only offer, but now it’s also available to the general public as well. This is a fantastic offer, Chase Ultimate Rewards points can be transferred to transfer partners at a 1:1 rate and at the moment they are also worth 1.25¢ back when using Pay Yourself Back. If you’re eligible then I’d definitely recommend signing up for this card, sadly most people won’t be eligible due to the 5/24 rule and 48 month Sapphire rule. We will still be adding this to our list of the best credit card bonuses.
If you signed up for this card recently Chase will usually match a new higher sign up bonus if it’s within 90 days. Sometimes when offers are first increased Chase will deny the match, so if you’re not having any success it might be worth waiting a day or two and trying again. If you have any other questions about Chase cards, I’d recommend reading this post to see if they are answered before asking in the comments. Referral links are still showing the lower 60,000 point offer, if that changes we will likely make a referral thread.
Hat tip to reader Jake S
Player 2 was targeted for this offer via postal mail. Expiration March 15th.
Just logged into my Chase Ink Preferred account and under Offers, it shows the 80k offer. Hope this helps.
I am not sure where you see “Offers”. I looked around on the website on a desktop browser. Are you looking at an app or mobile browser? I can still find 80K links via referral, though some state to apply by 11/7/2020 which is cause for some concern.
if you log into your chase account (web or mobile), and look for credit card section, it is still the 80k offer (as of now). hope it will last
William Charles I still see the 80k offer on $4k spend in the iOS chase app, fwiw Chuck
I can’t apply for another 2 months due to 48-month sapphire bonus rules, so hoping it stays.
Offer officially expired.
Both referral links and Chase website now show 60k.
checked again, some referral links are showing 80k
Some referral links are still showing 80K. Not sure if Chase will honor the 80K points. But the referrer may not get 15K as well I think. As it says “Just be sure to apply through this page and your friend can be rewarded! Apply by 11/7/2020”
It was still at 80k earlier today but it’s dead now – 60k now.
Offer still going strong
down to 60k 🙁
Called Chase and according to the CSR I am eligible for this offer. I asked when the 80K promo would be ending….she indicated sometime is March. Knowing that CSRs get confused how does one know when the 80K promo ends. I could not find any expiration date in the terms and conditions….or did I miss it.
“Don’t call the bank!” 😉
Also, “Don’t hoard points!” 😉😉
If I converted CSR to Freedom Flex two weeks ago, am I eligible? Other rules – 5/24 and 48 months since the last bonus are satisfied.
Yes you should be eligible
