Correction: Article originally stated two more airport lounges would becoming, but it’s actually three for a total of 9 lounges according to the slide on Chase’s investor deck (Skift article states 8). Hat tip to C-MontgomeryChurns
At Chase’s investor day they announced that they would be launching a dedicated travel booking platform called ‘ChaseTravel.com’ later this year. In 2018 Chase moved their travel portal from Connexions Loyalty (owned by cxLoyalty) to Expedia. Then in late 2020 Chase acquired the rewards division cxLoyalty and finally in late 2021 Chase moved back to cxLoyalty.
Chase expects it’s travel business to reach $8 billion in sales volume this year, and $15 billion by 2025 and claimed that it accounts for $1 in every $4 of the US leisure travel market and $1 in every $3 is spent by a Chase customer.
In addition to this announcement Chase also announced that they are under contract for a total of 9 airport lounges. Chase has already announced plans to open lounges in LAS, PHX, SAN, BOS, HKG & LGA. It’s unclear where the additional three lounges will be located.

EWR Chase lounge or Priority Pass lounge? United Airlines and SouthWest layovers in EWR, IAD, and BWI. Are there any Chase or Priority Pass lounges or restaurants in EWR? I prefer to have a layover in IAD as there are lounges there.
EWR has United Club. I think that’s it. You need to pay for it if you’re not a member or CC holder though.
Priority Pass started blowing out a couple of years ago. Now EWR has literally nothing in PP.
And you can visit only 5 chase lounges in 24 months
*Bernie sanders voice*: I am once again asking for non airline-branded lounges at O’Hare

A dedicated travel portal would be awesome. But many years behind Amex of course. I find the Chase website to be so annoying when trying to book travel through it, at least when compared to the interface of hotels.com.
Seems like the are targeting many airports that have a centurion lounge, which is great, as they are getting way overcrowded. I’m going to go with SFO as one of the mystery 3.
Where’s the Lounges?! Vaporware if I ever heard of it. The first two were announced 2 years ago.
Almost as if something disrupted global travel for the past 2 years…
“finally in late 2021 Chase moved back to cxLoyalty”
I find that statement wrong. Or maybe there is possible wrong doing by chase travel.
This is my case: ive booked a Punta Cana vacation through chase travel portal in March 2022, the same hotel and room were around $40 per night cheaper if booked with Expedia, but i wanted to use my CSR points so ive booked through Chase. Ive even called them and they said there is nothing that can be done. When i arrived at the hotel in punta cana on May 9th 2022, they’ve gave me a piece of paper on which it said: “Welcome Expedia loyal customer.” Obviously something is muddy here.
There’s some re-selling between OTAs to expand their inventory (where, for example, cxLoyalty might be selling you an Expedia booking). It’s also totally possible the hotel’s booking system tells them it’s from Expedia when it’s from any OTA. This is very common among the Expedia brands (e.g. I’ve gotten receipts that say “Expedia booking” when I booked through Hotels.com or Hotwire).
They had a mix of Expedia and cxLoyalty for a while, where I think the CSP had moved to the latter, but the CSR remained on the former. I think it’s all cxLoyalty now, though.
Well, I guess you read a rare post of someone having a good experience with the current Chase portal, in with twenty others who will curse it til they die!
I have had no issues with the Chase portal, been using it since I got my first Sapphire in 2016. I only book flights so maybe the issues people have with it are with the hotel/rental portions.
Almost no chance it will be ORD, that place can’t get a decent lounge any day of the week.
Big airport renovations coming! We’ll get some of the best soon! (Probably like 8 years lol)
I’d do almost anything for a decent lounge at ORD.
+1
Seems like between ORD and the few airports I fly to there are no decent lounges. Guess it’s just my luck.
You would think a company like Chase, especially with travel bookings would be able to tell where their customers need lounges.
Shhh… logic doesn’t belong in business 🙂
There are, you just have to pay for them.
Awesome. Now get rid of 5/24
